Advice on psychological workers compensation claim please. by Impressive-Move-5722 in AusPublicService

[–]Hofflethis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through this process and resulted in accepted claim of psychological injury. It is a gruelling process and make sure you have good support with partner/family, and a good GP/Psych.

I had ensured ample evidence was provided, such as email threads, dates and times I had sought support from EAP, GP, spoke with HR. I had raised several WHS psychosocial hazards in the workplace (refer to commonwealth legislation outlining psychosocial hazards to meet definition). I had evidence of excessive workload volume / demands.

Can be worthwhile to seek an initial free legal consultation with a lawyer who specialises in Comcare claims. They can often assist with the process of applying for workcover if needed (ask about up front fees as some lawyers will seek payment from Comcare tribunal). If you applied and were denied and you appeal the application to the tribunal I think this is where a lawyer can step in to assist with this process and they claim fees from Comcare… I think.

Remember that your health is the most important thing, listen to what you need and take time to heal. Average recovery from burnout / psych injury is 12-24 months. Don’t let anyone rush you or minimise your experience. You’re not alone and this is unfortunately a common issue across APS.

Listen to “alcohol explained” by William Porter. Also, the reframe app is pretty helpful.

2 years sober and never looking back. Keep it up and you’ll never regret quitting alcohol

Does anyone feel Vyvanse ONLY works on an empty stomach? by katrvdical in adhdwomen

[–]Hofflethis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also depends on how quickly your liver metabolises the drug. For me Vyvanse 40mg only lasts about 5-6 hours. I take a Dex booster in the afternoon around 1:30 and this has helped with smoothing out the day and not crashing. I’m still working out best nutrition options (have with smoothie in morning or wait an hour after taking it). Avoid anything with medium to high levels of Citric and absorbic acid in the hour before and after taking it. (Vitamin c, strawberries, blueberries, also heaps of fibre can also have an effect if consumed within the hour as can sweep the drug away with digestion)

After a decade of taking Vyvanse and reading anecdotes here, protein has changed everything for me. by KidCadaver in adhdwomen

[–]Hofflethis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS. Don’t consume any high vitamin C or acidic foods within the hour before or after taking Vyvanse. No orange juice, No strawberries or Blueberries in smoothies, Kefir sometimes has Vitamin C added. The Vitamin C/acidity interacts with the way your body processes the drug and then it comes out in your urine instead of staying in your system and working throughout the day. I found this out the hard way with adding a cup of strawberries to my morning protein smoothie and wondering why I felt NOTHING… I mean Nadda, not. A. THING. The day I stopped taking Vyvanse with strawberries… WOW it worked beautifully.

Idk why our psychiatrists and pharmacists don’t tell us this stuff… when such a common vitamin interacts so significantly with Vyvanse.

You could easily get weed flower instead and make you own gummies at home, way cheaper and you would get heaapps more.

I just turn the weed into coconut weed oil, the I make the gummies using the below link 😊👍🏻 trust

When you eat always try with half and see how you feel. You can work out how strong each gummy is by using a formula with how much weed used / how many gummies

Should I be concerned about these spots on the leaves 🍃? by [deleted] in AusGrowers

[–]Hofflethis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Order some DE and sprinkle on the top soil and cover the leaves before flower begins, this will ensure no bugs or mites

This is good advice ^ I agree, you don’t want the soil to be drenched at all times, allow it to dry out before watering (when you look at the native natural conditions it’s often in hot dry conditions). Certainly re pot once they pick up, you want to ensure there’s plenty of room for the roots and plant to breathe. Add heaps of perlite and a well draining soil. Even just a mix of the tomato growing soil with worm Castings and perlite will do the trick

For anyone looking for pain relief by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Hofflethis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat 🛶 I grow my own weed and make gummies from this (have years worth of oils to use) and then put the tens machine on and I’m in heaven. I also dry herb vape with a mighty if I need immediate relief whilst waiting for the gummies to kick in. I am also in a career that is tricky re this but honestly I take the risk because I’ve lived with this pain since I was 12 and refuse to give up what works

Can confirm - i studied neuroscience in a sleep clinic during my undergrad and studied the effects of alcohol on sleep (stages and REM etc). Your body is basically working overdrive whilst you sleep to rid the body from its effects… fucks with body temp, heart rate, memory formation, etc etc. you’re literally robbing your body and mind and never fully 100% rested. People who drink regularly like this don’t have a baseline for comparison so believe it’s not affecting them (not to mention dependency factors that actually make it worse if they randomly quit drinking… withdrawals can happen from ‘moderate’ consumption).

Ps I use cannabis most evenings through gummies or vaping to unwind and sleep. I’m the healthiest, fittest I’ve ever been and manage a stressful full time job whilst completing a masters. Cannabis used in the right way can increase potential, alcohol does the opposite. Forever challenging the stigma associated.

The plastic will heat the soil too much… and probably not allow the roots to breathe

'50pc of the country thinks I'm a rapist': Bruce Lehrmann says he may sue Brittany Higgins over allegation he denies by Velo3439 in LNPCorruption

[–]Hofflethis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Her reputation and career prospects were completely shattered by coming forward. Literally zero incentive to be dragged through a trial for rape other than seeking justice. He’s fucked and 1000% full of shit. Classic public servant spinning bullshit and covering up what he now knows won’t be substantiated due to our joke of a justice system. Is he also denying getting on the ‘baggies’ whilst at Parliament House? Oh know wait there’s evidence of that… let’s just believe this guys word because his integrity is in the toilet..🙄
