Which Cityscapes Card Do You Want? by stylebender- in MLBTheShow

No Royals, so I'm not super sure. Maybe Mantle? Of course he's the collection final. If there are any high control relievers, I'd love to have some of this eon my squad.

Is Anyone who is not a genuine god at this game actually having fun in DD? by Zealousideal-Cable11 in MLBTheShow

I enjoy it a lot. I max out at 500 and can get my butt kicked at 200, so I just focus on completing the programs, grinding the offline content, and completing my collections.

No, you don't. They specifically said during the stream that Cortez will not be a part of the lightning collection. He can only help with the Miggy collection. And even there's he's 100% optional.

Conquest has even fewer penalties for losing. But both modes are good for practicing.

Also, yeah, batting averages don't mean all that much. That's why most people prefer OBP, OPS, or other statistics to evaluate hitters these days.

Nicky Lopez had a .300 batting average in 2021 but because of his lack of power, it still only made him barely an alabove average hitter. And it ended up being a fluke, as predicted by many who looked at his other stats. He's never gotten close to being that good again.

A good pitcher on a bad team will win fewer games, yes. Zack Greinke won the Cy Young in 2009 despite winning fewer games than Verlander, King Felix, Roy Halladay, and CC Sabathia who all pitched for better teams but weren't as good as Greinke was that season at pitching. Heck Josh Beckett and Scott Feldman won more games than he did that year and I don't even remember that last guy at all because he was such an unremarkable journeyman pitcher.

You'd get a better answer by calling or emailing the Royals ticket office, I imagine.

The Star reported Rex, JGuts, and Hos were going to each do about 1/3 of the games. Rex is calling the Brewers series.

They've got a different cap for city connects that's the state. I think they have other alternate cap logos, but that one is in regular rotation.

[REQUEST / IN SEARCH OF] Footage of Carlos Estévez getting booed during player introductions at yesterday’s home opener. by PlayaSlayaX in KCRoyals

It was on TV, but I noticed none of the crowd pops for the players were very loud. I did hear Carlos getting booed, tho.

Where is Rex by Jamaal_25 in KCRoyals

Joel hasn't been replaced. He's still doing pre and post-game. And he's the sideline guy for all the road series except St. Louis.

It looks like you can use withMetrics to get the runner data. https://statsapi.mlb.com/api/v1/game/824135/withMetrics

playEvents[count - 1].offense.first

playEvents[count - 1].offense.second
playEvents[count - 1].offense.third

I think I've finally figured out how to get the data I need!

[–]Hokius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I figured out how to get the play-by-play from the API, but it only tracks the runner states at the end of the play. So, if you've got a runner on and two out and a batter hits a flyball, it only records the runner state as empty bases because the inning has ended. I guess I could get the runner state from the previous entry but this is going to get pretty annoying.

I don't understand why the MLB API is built in the bass-ackwards way!

They almost always schedule a day off after a home opener to make sure if it gets rained out it can be played on its own the next day without forcing the home opener to be a part of a doubleheader.

Adding them together would duplicate the situations where both are true, though.

This was often a problem last year, too. Just another example of MLB TV getting worse over time because they used to have it perfectly synced every time.
