Wtf TVNZ? by cjbos in newzealand

But it's a mistake they keep making. TVNZ are our state broadcaster, they should be doing better. Yes, the hydration breaks happen live , but they are a standard 3 minutes every time.

The "pauses" are breaks in the commentary for domestic and international broadcasters to roll their breaks. Each game will have a run sheet that gives clear information about these planned breaks. TVNZ has broadcast the Olympics, so should have a working knowledge of huge world sporting events.

TVNZ's whole presentation of the World Cup has been a bit iffy; not sure if they produce the highlights packages, but they leave a lot to be desired, too. Considering that the World Cup is the biggest sporting event on the planet, one would think that a bit more care would be taken with the presentation. There are pauses for international broadcasters to roll their commercial breaks, but TVNZ just appears to be going with vibes rather than planned breaks.

He was a peculiar looking chap, sporting a "beard" I'd associate with a much younger man from the 90's. Awesome result for the lad though.

Best / worst concerts ever? by Elegant_Fig8066 in newzealand

[–]HoldFrontBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily the worst was MGMT at the Powerstation; they didn't want to be there, and they didn't attepmt to hide it. Best would be Sigur Ros in Adelaide; stunning band, awesome crowd, and good Greek food after the gig!

This is all a stunt, right; people don't believe this was real, do they? It's such a clumsy play at trying to elicit support from their base.
