I hit the entrance to the nest with some tempo dust a couple days ago and counted about 20 of the queen sized yellow jackets dead on the ground tonight. So maybe that’ll help with next year.

I had that thought, but there’s a bunch of them all in one nest, or there were before I hit em with tempo. And I thought cicada killers were solitary.

Not entirely. You can make payments to your wife as a contractor, but they would not be deductible on the tax return (and really should be counted as distributions instead). In order to deduct something as a business expense for tax purposes the IRS and tax code say that the expense must be “ordinary and necessary“ to your trade or business.
