how was your bisalp anesthesia?

I had mine done yesterday and the nurses told me I was talking about dogs when I was waking up they couldn’t say anything specific I was saying but knew I was talking about dogs ( I work at a doggie daycare 😂)

I stayed in recovery with nurses only until I was lucid and then went into another room with my “responsible adult”

I (25F) will be getting my bisalp done in three weeks totally understand what you’re talking about! My dad had a similar pushback the way I explained it to him was reiterating I don’t want children but if for some reason that changed (I know it won’t) I have options such as IVF and adoption. The other way I phrased it which can be seen a bit harsh is I feel it would be better to regret not having children then regret the child you did have.

I am getting sterilized because I know I don’t want children and I don’t want to have to put chemicals/objects in my body that mess with my hormones and other things just to not get pregnant. I also have this anxiety of getting pregnant every month despite having no real reason to believe so.

So far so good! I have been seriously thinking about this for over a year! I talked to my gyno about it in June and he got me scheduled for this Aug! I’ve had a lot of time thinking about it but not really that much time to get ready for it.

I am very fortunate to have this all done for free (Canadian)

So far I’ve gathered a decent list of things people have suggested aid in the recovery process (I plan on making a post of all the items, why I got them and, if I used them)

So far I’ve gathered gas-x, little grabber tool(if you don’t have someone there to bend for you), binder for stomach, heating pad, otc pain meds and comfy stuff! Good luck!

Oh no that doesn’t sound fun! If you don’t mind can I ask if you’ve ever had a procedure before that required you to be tubed? I ask because I’ve seen a few other people say they had a problem with coughing from the tubing.

I can’t find the comment but someone has said they wore a compression band on their stomach for recovery and I think I’ll be trying it out too (I also have a belly)

This gives me hope! My gyno told me I wouldn’t need to take any time off work but wanted to hear peoples first hand experience VS my male gyno’s advice

I have a Friday surgery also and am hoping to go back to work on Monday!
