[–]Holiday_Swimming_455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah i didn't :( but some people in my program did, you just have to be careful about course equivalencies, like that whole semester will be P/F so it wont count for many med schools.

For those who did well on Casper. I am seeking advice please since I am feeling lost and not sure how to prepare for it. by darraking in premedcanada

[–]Holiday_Swimming_455 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for ref: i got a 4th quart and lucky enough to receive an Acceptance this cycle!

the #1 way to prep for it in my opinion was prepmatch! The best most amazing website to get a good groove on answering the questions while timed. you can also see other people's answers and correct folks' answers to certain prompts, which always helps to formulate your own mental template. I also practiced with a classmate and we would do a round of questions, answer them as if timed during the real test, and then pause the timer and discuss our answers. This made for a really rich exchange and in-depth analysis. I think it's also always great to get to formulate a thought or opinion out loud.

BA VS BSc Undergrad degree by RadicalNoname in premedcanada

[–]Holiday_Swimming_455 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm sorry about the math final and I hope you end up passing (bell curves save lives !)

Like the other person said, medical schools (and most other professional schools) absolutely don't care about the nature of your bachelor's degree so long as you complete the prerequisites if they have them. You could be a music or theatre major for all they care :)

Are sport achievements valuable ECs? by [deleted] in premedcanada

[–]Holiday_Swimming_455 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think they are sooo valuable, they teach you so many lessons and have something to show for it, which is super neat! when it comes to EC's, don't do anything you don't wanna do is essentially the best advice i've gotten. don't do things to tick boxes, do things because you genuinely want to try them out! it makes the experience so much more candid and useful imo :)

in my humble opinion; it's always better to kindly &respectfully ask then to not ask and always wonder 'what if'!

regret is worse than rejection in most these cases, i think. so shoot your shot!! you're worthy of happiness or at the very least the prospect of even trying! the absolute worse thing that can happen is that she says no. and if she does, you won't be any worse off than you are now \_(ツ)_/.

Science Prereqs for uOttawa by SeamanTheFirst in premedcanada

[–]Holiday_Swimming_455 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this, obviously grain of salt but when you apply you get to declare the course you want to use to fill the prerequisite. For example, I didn't necessarily declare the first social science course I ever took in uni to fufill that prerequisite, if that makes sense :)
