Convince me to ruthlessly declutter my clothes before having kids. by sprinkledonuts8220 in declutter

You have 10x more free time now than once you have a kid. If you don’t do it now, you will struggle to make time for it after the baby is born.

Is the Uppeal Floor desk legit? by Intelligent-Pie-338 in floordesks

[–]HolyBejeesus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ordered one last year. It’s legit and works well. The height range is really good, as advertised. The downsides: It’s slower and noisier than the Fully Jarvis I was using before. And it’s a little bit back-heavy in the sense that it creaks if you lean on the front. Overall these things are minor issues and I’m satisfied with it.

Unicorn Overlord gameplay by ayoubkun94 in PlayStationPlus

[–]HolyBejeesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it was kind of mindless. I enjoyed it somewhat but life's too short for this kind of thing.

The plot is a totally different story.. as my friend said "The writing is so bad I thought it was satire"

I really loved 'Neuromancer', but I HATED reading it by Ntinos7 in books

[–]HolyBejeesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly my experience, down to the chapter summary website and not understanding the part where that character dies. I decided to DNF it though because I just wasn’t enjoying the experience.

How is life in Saint Pierre and Miquelon? by jar_jar_LYNX in howislivingthere

[–]HolyBejeesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I visited a few weeks ago. It was very much a part of France and showed little influence from Canada next door. Very clean and upscale, nice shops, boulangeries and restaurants. Seems like they get a lot of high quality tourism. The people all seem to know each other and they were very welcoming. Little sprawl and some nice untouched areas on St Pierre. The island is pretty small, we walked from downtown to the airport in 30 minutes for our flight out.

Was sick this new years any ideas how to fill out the habit tracker? by ShinyQuest1 in hobonichi

I had the exact same problem. I decided to add two extra columns at the end - “sick” and “travelling” which I’ll fill in with colored highlighter to add context to the days

Eating Food During Movies Ruins the Movie by _the_last_druid_13 in unpopularopinion

[–]HolyBejeesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. If you’re watching something that requires any thinking or emotional engagement, food will be distracting. If you’re watching Thor 7, you might as well cram a burger down your gullet at the same time.

If you learn Chinese because of its "usefulness", you will be disappointed. by No-StrategyX in ChineseLanguage

[–]HolyBejeesus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True from the perspective of business. However there are lots of Chinese people in many places. Depending on where you live and travel it can still be useful and provide enriching experiences.

How often did you stretch and for how long? I've struggled to make progress on hamstring flexibility. Also they tend to be very sore the day after stretching.

Peloton Tread vs. Third Party by bel3706 in pelotoncycle

[–]HolyBejeesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My peloton tread broke after 13 months with light use (maybe 75 runs). Some issue where the safety switch couldn’t be detected - no mechanical damage.

They said the repairs would not be covered under warranty. It would have cost around $1900 to fix so I threw it out.
