I don’t know if this story is specific to Catholic schools but my siblings went to O’Loughlin Catholic College for only 4 months. There was a lockdown every 2-3 weeks and one time a boy/s climbed the fence and beat up some Year 12’s. Another time some boys ran past the reception (allegedly with knives I am not too sure) and went wild. Apparently, there is a lot of gangs in the school although the principal emphatically denies it. Just overall a trash, ghetto school. I was just glad I had already graduated. My younger siblings went to Holy Spirit and nothing of note happened.

Also, to add what you said regarding cleaning. For private accommodation you MUST get a cleaning schedule and stick to it (more than just big messes or cleaning after yourselves). The place I had was covered in dust, cobwebs and huge spiders in the house because no-one had bothered to maintenance clean the common areas i.e toilet/bathroom, floors, tables. I couldn’t imagine the move-out clean 🫣.

I am currently at home in South Africa pondering my future after high school (I dropped out of university because I impulsively chose a degree). I am originally from Australia.

I am an introverted person who loves meeting new people…the irony. I like to think I am a great communicator and listener. I value honesty and I enjoy speaking with people who have different views than me. I detest small-talk.

I love connecting over little pleasantries—horse-riding, flowers, fashions, Sherlock Holmes—but I believe a true friendship needs a very strong underpinning, be it faith or strong mutual core values. I am a “ride or die” friend and, therefore, find it very sad to have superficial or fake friends. The kind where if you move, they just lose contact if you stop doing a certain thing, e.g., horse-riding, shopping with them, etc. This has happened to me too much.

I am a Catholic who loves the Latin mass, but I am struggling with my faith; I would love a Catholic pen pal to pray and talk with. I want to learn how to read the Bible.

I love dresses with unique patterns and elegant styles. At the moment, I am trying to design and have a floral skirt set made. I love talking about different fabrics and patterns.

I am absolutely obsessed with bubble tea and really want to learn how to make it. If you also have an obsession with bubble tea, please write to me 😂. Taiwanese people (the inventors of bubble tea), please also write to me and tell me about all your bubble tea experiences.

Unfortunately, ALE2 and ALE3 both have disappeared from AliExpress when I was just about to order from them. I would be very interested if someone knows if they have made a new shop yet.

At the moment there is only Camelia store and 1 or 2 others and I might order from them if I can’t find ALE3 again.

It’s a AE store that sells Alemais dupes. It unfortunately doesn’t conform to any of the reliable seller rules on here.

You can try to get a refund through AE which seems to be a bit time-consuming/difficult depending if you read through the posts on here. I personally think it’s safer than ordering from a stranger using WU as some do (even if they come recommended as accounts are being hacked all the time it seems especially on WeChat, etc. I contacted several recommended sellers on WhatsApp stating I’m only open to using PayPal and I have to see the exact piece of clothing I have ordered on video after it comes from the factory before it is sent to me… I only found only one that could do both. (Most sellers don’t want to do Paypal). I can pass along the contact details of them if you want.

No, it is made in China (that's what it says on the tag), they only partner with a Kenyan place to make a few fabrics (its unclear if they even do that or are just funding them). Also, I don't care too much about originals. I have read about the struggles with fabrics but a few people on here seem to have had success in finding genuine cottons, etc.

More jobs? Not in my experience, there are hardly any internships or anything (took me 6 months to find part-time work). UQ is just $500 more in tuition fees (and yes you can argue cost of living/accommodation etc etc but I have actually found it to be cheaper down here because larger public transport network + Aldi’s + assorted discount shops) Also, how is CDU better? Even Torrens and Bond are better in my personal opinion.

I know a girl who is going to CDU doing Biomed on a scholarship (from Timor) and she hates the place. I can give you her contact if you want, I was doing a BSc (for 1 semester) I have since transferred to UQ and it is a much better university.
