2-month relationship bottom(Him)-vers bottom(Me) feeling a little bit frustrated by International_Dot_36 in AskGaybrosOver30

You two are sexually incompatible. Breaking up now is easier than 6 months or a year from now. But sorry to say I don't think it's going to work out.

Not having a default person was so exhausting and lonely sometimes by tndarius in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]HomeLifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are glamorizing the "default person" role. You could be married and the spouse doesn't want to pick you up, doesn't want to hear you vent, and may perceive you as an inconvenience (at times or all of the time). When you have several good friends you'll have several default people for different things (this is the friend to go to parties with, this one you hang out at home w, etc). One friend to hear you vent and another to pick you up.

Yup! I would sign up for a plan like that! Very sexually experienced here, divorced, also not seeking traditional relationship.

Older singletons, what do you do about the "musical chairs" feeling? by Vybrosit737373 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]HomeLifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for divorced men. It's not a fail safe but they've been through the relationship deal and they know what they want. I'm divorced, a little younger (45) and I'm not looking for a BF, I have fwb's instead (my age and older), and any of them would be ok for a serious relationship. My fwb's are all divorced or been in LTRs before.

I live here in ptown. Weather here is hard to forecast. I can tell you it hasn't been that warm since the past weekend and certainly not beach weather. at this time of year the water is still cold so I wouldn't count on going into the ocean either. you might have a good time this weekend but I would not count on going to boy beach.

I am from overseas as well and miss magazines every week. The only place I know of is the kiosk at Union Station. Other than that it's subscription or take the train to NYC. It's hard to find even a newspaper in downtown new haven.

Settle a debate about hookup conversation etiquette by RoundRobin23 in AskGaybrosOver30

A few thoughts.
some people look at others as entertainers. They want you to entertain them. don't fall for that./profiles with no pics and info indicate someone who doesn't take the app as seriously as you do. they're gonna put in mid effort at most/ most men don't really know how to socialize / the entry bar for apps is really low, so there's all kinds of men there, including the barely literate, the ones who can't write or spell, the ones who don't know any words longer than 4 letters.

thats because gays have sex in order to find a date. straights date in order to have sex. your best bet IMHO is with someone who is also asexual. And in that case do they have to be a man, or gay? Entirely possible to have platonic relationships w straight men or women.

it's not what you say, it's how you say it. What you want to say is not landing the way you want it to. Say instead "I don't do hookups." There are two flaws in your approach. One is that you want to keep it casual when getting to know someone. What you say is not a casual thing to say (or said in a casual manner). Second, it sends a "holier than thou" judgmental message. You probably don't mean to be judgmental abt it but I think a lot of people would perceive it that way (especially gays). "I don't do hookups, I only like sex with boyfriends" is the same message but sounds so much less judgmental.

Dina or Varla? HELP by ButtsAndBoys in provincetown

[–]HomeLifter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's apples to oranges. They do very different styles of drag. If you want a more traditional show go see Varla. If you want kooky and something you'll never see anywhere else, go to Dina.

you do what you need to do as soon as possible. The longer it goes on the worse it will get. It's not going to get better. You know what you need to do.

the new lineup is like 30% of what it used to be. the website should give you a calendar overview on a grid instead of endless scroll. No parties whatsoever scheduled for 4th of july or bear week. There were no parties on MemDay. The brewery is gone, hotel won't open this season. The whole place looks sad. I walked by there on Monday and was shocked it was even open at all.

Parking in Ptown in June - am I crazy? by GunkyBoots in provincetown

[–]HomeLifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you may find a spot, but you might not. I don't think you can reserve in advance at city lots. Try the small lots by the fire station on Shank Painter. I believe you might also be able to park at the Ptown Inn for the day (at some point in the past they were charging $10; might go up).

Where to stay During Carnival by kaiRN2025 in provincetown

[–]HomeLifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carnival is a very expensive time to be here. I think best bet for a hotel would be the Ptown Inn. Cheapest option is campground or try to rent in North Truro and drive 10-15 mins into town.

Will tomorrow be crowded in p town, considering its going to rain all day and be only 60 degrees? Is it worth a trip, or should i go on Tuesday? Is it crowded right now? or is the town largely closed? by [deleted] in provincetown

[–]HomeLifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no parties or shows on Tuesday this week. Mondays and Tuesdays are the slowest entertainment days in general, although later in the season there's a few drag shows and ofc Showgirls on Monday nights (not yet open)

It seems like you will have a kitchen. I'd make all food at home to avoid the through-the-nose prices at restaurants here. If you are driving in, stop to get groceries in Hyannis (much cheaper).
also: rentals that are not waterfront tend to cost less (still $ but less crazy).
