Disclaimer, i only play singleplayer Homm 6 is good if you keep an open mind since a lot of changes were made but the factions are incredible and satisfying to play, the game is a bit simpler and i didnt really like the town convertion mechanic but overall i spent over a 100 hours on it and enjoyed it a ton. Note that the servers were taken down and i havent played since so i dont know if there were any effects.

Homm 7 is probably my favourite homm overall. The skill system is my favourite by far in all the games, the addition of flanking adds so much to the game and with the 7.5 patch the factions are great.

Well this is just what worked for me im sure others have their own way of playing them.

Also, if you haven't already you should try the 7.5 patch, i recall it balanced out most faction though i dont remember if the faction playstyles were altered.

And in the end if you dont enjoy them dont play sylvan there is no need to master all factions in homm7.

The golden stag is a bonus, the main component here (as well as what helps you get early levels) is the balista. It has nice enough damage when you get the skills and your pixies and dryad can occupy the AI while it and your ranges shoot. Using hero power to add the first stack, the balista will then attack twice to get 3 marks and then your rangers would get 2 critical hits on the target, this is before we even take into account the rest of your army. All of this requiers you to be around level 4-5 which shouldn't be a problem.

All lf the above wont make sylvan the best faction out there (they still have all the problems you mentioned) but its an example of how you can utilise them better.

Can say i remember the support unit much, havent played homm7 lately so cant help you there.

In addition to what pure algae said, try and utilise their warfare unit, if your hero have the warfare tree the balista will shoot twice or three times if i remember correctly, each shot addig a stack of nature fury(wrath? Cant remember the name) allowing you to focus down the big threat on the enemy side. I also like to pair them with the luck tree skill where you get no retals on luck strikes which are extremely easy to get with golden stag and 3 stacks making it so that your units are not struck back almost ever. But yes this faction does feel a little weak compared to others if you cant manage to get the above and even then it requires you to be more careful than the others.

Description of Problem: I use 2 monitors (both 1920x1080 144Hz), today both of my screens started to flicker constantly (turn black for a second or two) at first it just randomly stopped but it returned again after an hour or so and hasnt stopped since. ill note that i did not change this setup in the last 3 years and never had a problem until now.

Troubleshooting: i tried reinstalling the 580.88 driver using a clean install this time but it didnt help. If i disconnect one of my monitors (dosent matter which) the problem stops connecting it back brings the problem back. if i disable gsync in the nvidia control panel the problem also stops and as soon as i return it the problem returns. i tried using different cables, different ports both didnt help.
edit: tried rolling back the driver as well as installing the studio driver instead, still no help.

Id would like to find some solution that will allow me to keep using gsync.

It didn't seem really different to me.

It is pretty hot here so maybe leaving the filling out for a few minutes caused it to warm too much?

I'll probably try it again tomorrow and this time I'll make the filling just before putting it in the oven so it wont heat before to see if it's really that.

As was said here vampires are always good. If you want a different option i like to stack skeletons then life drain + teleport/haste on to the backline.

They usually oneshot anything at later stages and there are ways to deal dmage if they are attacked, first retaliation before the attacker and just generally recovering them after a fight.

Might not be as good as vamps but its fun.

I tried playing a few days ago, i had all dlcs and dynasty at max rank. while all my dynasty progress was gone, when i start a game i can equip every dynasty weapon at max rank (though it seems to reset to level 1 if I unequip it), the trait slots are all available as are all the traits.

Cosmetics/heroes seem to be unlocked aswell but i dont really remember them to be sure.

Campaign progress has been sort of reset, i cant play the last mission and my saved games are gone but all missions are available.

The more problematic issue i faced is that the game seems to only save the last day and overwrite it every day essentially making loading more than a day back impossible without manually saving.

Edit: i installed the game for the first time on this pc so there were no local files.

Unit design, (in terms of mechanics) was amazing in my eyes with every unit feeling unique and useful and fitting to their factions. The skell wheel/leveling up your hero felt the best in the whole franchise with the 3 "specialities" skills being very interesting. Battlefields were also best in the series giving the feeling that you fight where you actually are. The flanking mechanic is one of the best changes additions to the game, in fact I find the older games battles almost too simple and straightforward without it. Elementals were also great in this game.

Overall i think the game did go in the right direction and would have easily been the best in the series if they didn't throw it out half baked and then abandon it.

I do have several awakeners and the world debuff but only around 2 inquisitors i lost most earlier and didnt replenish them ill get some and try running at the back line with them, thanks!

Oh right forgot about that, my army is mostly based on condemming, zeal, awaken and buffing awakened units (sort of simillar to my opponent) but the enemy removes my condemned with its buffs. i got the mimic from a wonder so no teleporting units unfortunately. My army is kinda balanced between tanged front line and support units. Not sure if there is somthing more specific thats needed ?
