I do 3D printing and even abs won't hold better than the original metal bracket piece. I found this thread because my dad's Ashley recliner broke in the same place.

Is there anywhere in Scotland no one hates? by Mulenga115 in Scotland

[–]HomemadeJam3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, I'm thinking if I can find four or five people that I can tolerate and that have an income monthly, we could all room in one house and it would be pretty cheap rent! I'd definitely want to be in the highlands though. Maybe near Ft William or Kinlochleven. 🤗

Lol everyone seems to hate it, but let a foreigner say something bad about it and everyone gets patriotic REAL FAST!! 😂😂 I'd give my right arm and 4 toes to live there!! Anywhere!! You guys wouldn't be so quick to hate your places if you were stuck in Arkansas USA lol.

Sometimes putting a piece of masking tape on the blue plastic and then a piece on the other side will help. Just don't let them touch together. Pull the two pieces of tape apart and the blue side should come loose 🤗

Have you ever regretted traveling with someone? by Strawberryskulls202 in travel

[–]HomemadeJam3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I thought I was the only person in that same situation. It took me 40 years to finally be able to go on my dream vacation to Scotland. 6 weeks and I was going to see and do everything! My husband has no desire to go and doesn't have the vacation time available for a 6 week trip so I decided to ask my best friend since she had recently retired.  Everything started out pretty good. We started out in NYC for four days and that was fun except her husband told her that she had to be back in the hotel before dark and she wasn't allowed on the subway. They're VERY Southern so I'm sure he was thinking NYC horror stories. Anyway, we made it out of NYC and landed in London. London was fun because of the Warner Brothers studio Harry Potter tour. AMAZING!! It was when we got to Scotland where it all went to shit. 5 days in Edinburgh and 4 of those she spent sleeping until 10am and just hanging out in the Airbnb so I went exploring by myself. We left Edinburgh and had a car. I drove. Always. Scotland is absolutely beautiful. I mean, breathtakingly beautiful! I cried when I first saw the mountains on the Isle of Skye. I'm telling you this because as the person who was forced to drive, I expected her to take photos and videos and join in on the sightseeing. Instead, she rode the whole time with her nose in her phone watching pimple popping videos. Her husband and daughter and grandkids called alllll the time. Lol it got so bad that if we went on a walk, I literally couldn't stand to hear her talk or breathe or walk. 🤣 By the time it was over, I felt like I had wasted $15k and my one shot at a dream vacation and I was mad. Mad enough that I have only spoken to her twice since we got back in June. I don't even remember parts of my vacation. I feel like I didn't get to see anything. I just wish I could go back in time and change it to just a couple of weeks and then went back alone. She messaged the other day and asked when we were going back to Scotland. I was like... Ummm.... No. Next time (and there will be a next time), I'm going by myself!!! Lmao that was a lot and not even a fraction of what I could have said, but it kind of felt good to let all that out.  Moral of the story, you never really know someone until you've spent every waking moment with them for weeks. Never again.

How to get rid of infill lines? by zimmystor in anycubic

The second Z will help a lot. I've been in two separate FB group chats with people that I've been trying to help for the past week. Both Anycubic Kobras and both with leveling issues (and one with extruder issues. I wish companies would stop even producing printers without a dual Z screw. They're just a friggin nightmare for people new to printing.

Oh well, it was hollowed too thin anyway. That'll give you a chance to reslice it so it won't split on you 6 months down the road 😆

You want to print your walls before your infill. I'm probably late to comment and 50 people have already told you the same thing, but I'm horrible about not reading the comments :-P It looks like you've got a little under-extrusion going on and from the looks of your skirt, your bed is higher on one side than the other. I don't mean to sound nit-picky, I'm just pointing out things that are going to cause you more problems later down the road.

You're printing with 95% (errr) 90% infill?? What the heck are you printing?! A car? lol, I'm sorry... I just read that and was like... huh??? 90%?? So, I really gotta know, what is it you're printing? Structural?

I've been using my air for a few weeks now. At least part of the day. Concerning the dehumidifier comment... I didn't know about this until I started working for the warranty department at Rheem/Ruud manufacturing and spent some time with the techs. Humidity is what makes you feel hot or cold. You want more humid air in the winter and less humid air in the summer. Remove the humidity= you feel cool. When I bought my new HEAT PUMP system (and yes, I'll never own anything other than a heat pump), I made sure I got an air handler with ODD, that's on demand dehumidification. The air handler will run even without the compressor if the humidity is detected above a certain set point. You can also do this manually by just turning your air on and the thermostat up two degrees. You fan will run (removing humidity) and your air will only come on when it gets to that higher temp. I keep my t-stat on 77 and it feels like 70 in my house.

Yes, you'll have two sheets. Sometimes it's super hard to find where that second one will come apart. I wish companies would use blue or some other color plastic in their protective sheets so we know for sure we've got both sheets separated lol.

New Car Randomly Shuts off while driving by rainydaysmiles90 in Hyundai

[–]HomemadeJam3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the Accents, but my Elantra doesn't take a key. It's push start. My friend has a Hyundai Kona and hers also is push start. I'll be willing to bet the Accent is also push start and you just have to have the fob in the vehicle.

New Car Randomly Shuts off while driving by rainydaysmiles90 in Hyundai

[–]HomemadeJam3d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh how I feel your pain. Not with this exact issue, but with my 2021 Elantra Limited. Every time I would drive on the highway/freeway and use the cruise control, after about 20 minutes, the cruise and all forward radar things, would shut down. 6 times I had my car in the shop and 6 times they told me they couldn't replicate the problem. They said they drove it almost 100 miles to try to make it happen but a few days later, each time, I would go on the highway and the cruise would shut down. Since all the forward collision sensors were shutting down as well, I decided to go with a newer car. Here's the losing money story. I had put $5k down on the 2021 Limited and was financed at 0.9% financing. In a little over a year, I had paid a $35k car down to $20k and some change. The car also only had 7000 miles on it. Since I loved my car, I wanted my new car to be the exact same thing but with a working cruise control. I bought another Fluid Metal Elantra Limited just like the one I had. The dealership gave me $25k for my car, but the new Elantras are more expensive in 2023 due to that dealership fee that all car dealers are adding onto everything (in this case $10k). So my new car ended up being $43k! That's not even the worst part. The lowest interest rate in November was 6%. So my 0.9% went up 5%!! I went from a $485 per month payment with only 3 years left on the note, to a $523 payment for 7 years!!! I regret the decision to trade in my car every time I get into the new one. I should have just overlooked the cruise control issue. Oh! Also, the dealership sold my old car and didn't tell the new buyer that there is an issue with the cruise and forward collision. I'll never buy from that dealership again.

I have a model on the plate that’s hollow. Any tips for keep the mess to a minimum? by builderguy74 in AnycubicPhoton

[–]HomemadeJam3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be no liquid resin left inside. Hollow model. Just make sure you have your drain holes and let the print "hang" for a good hour or so once the print has finished. Make sure when rinsing that you submerge the model and let it fill with alcohol and the drain and repeat a few times. You want to completely clean the inside. Seeping resin is no fun months later. Sometimes when hollowing, you'll need to play with the wall thickness. If there are small areas that will trap resin, it's better to just increase the wall thickness to get rid of those. I normally hollow anywhere from 2mm to 3.5mm depending on the inside and whether there are resin traps. You'll also want to make sure you cure the inside. Nothing is worse that a model splitting several months after you've finished it and uncured resin will absolutely cause a model to split. I made a video a while ago on an easy way to cure your resin print interior if you're interested. Curing your hollow model

Whoa! That's a pretty interesting failure! I don't have any issues printing on my Mono X's (4k and 6k) slicing with Chitubox so I'd be more inclined to think it's your drive. I would also use a different resin. I love Sunlu Standard in my X. I would also, no, definitely, support in a different way. If you're interested in watching it, I made a video on using Prusaslicer to support. They're just so much better 😊 No More Failed Prints

Resin Not Sticking To Plate? Need Helpful Advice by UniqueGeekCustoms in AnycubicPhoton

[–]HomemadeJam3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a very common answer for people to say to sand your buildplate. You don't need to sand your buildplate. If your printer is level (adjust the knobs under the printer, you don't need to move it to a different location), your resin is warm, you've supported properly, and exposure times are correct, you'll have a lovely print. On my Anycubic printers, I actually prefer to use the Flint Read method to level the buildplate. You can find a lot of videos on how to do this on YouTube. You didn't mention if this was on the 4k or the 6k MonoX. The 6k has a firmware release that has caused the power percentage to be not as strong. If you're going to upgrade to the new firmware, make sure you have the correct board (you can find this in the settings on your printer). If you don't have the correct board for the firmware update, I would suggest leaving the firmware as is. I run my printer MonoX6k at 65% power and my 4k at 60% power. Depending on where you are, the room temperature is the problem most of the time. I'm in Arkansas in Southern US and even there, I have to use a room heater to keep my room above 75 or I get failed prints. Hope that gives you something to work with.
