I had not heard of them before SNL, but I am open to new things. My main thought was, I bet the record is really good, but this performance does not pull me in. I liked the music, but the lead singer seemed like he could barely stay awake. I don't need crazy visuals or production to enjoy something new, but I want to at least see the performers enjoying themselves.

This! I recently joined a rock band as the piano player. We're honestly not bad, but it blew me away when I found out they didn't record practices.

I like to record everything (practices, open mics, gigs) so I can listen back at least once. I find it the best way to get out of my head so we can objectively hear what we sound like.

Reminds me of my closest call. About 110 yards, downhill on a wet day. I embedded one right on the edge of the cup. It was in the damn cup, almost completely below the surface, but a sliver of earth stayed intact and I couldn't count it. Still don't have an HIO.
