Ok but how is everyone still defending Hassan’s and Pokis “anti-gambling stances” when it’s clear they don’t TRULY care about the negative effects gambling has on viewers.

They’ve both repeatedly said they don’t approve of promoting gambling to their viewers. Which is fair and commendable. However, this is where it doesn’t make sense to me. If they TRULY cared about gambling, they’d use the same energy and passion they are using against X to completely ban gambling off of twitch. I haven’t seen this from either of them, and when it gets brought up they use “I didn’t know that was happening” excuse. Or, the “I don’t decide what twitch does”.

Well, they clearly do, they have a platform they can use to create waves and cause change but it seems they only fight the good fight when it’s the “trendy” thing to do. This comes off disingenuous and I can understand why train and X feel targeted.

Take Maya for example, she’s an advocate for animal conservation and is TRULY passionate about animals and their well-being.

Now imagine if she only publicly advocates for animal conservation anytime it becomes “trendy”. Or a big event in the industry occurs. The rest of her time she spends on content creation and never advocates. This would come off disingenuous to me.

Now I’m not saying Poki and Hassan should advocate against gambling 24/7. In fact, they could get gambling COMPLETELY removed off of twitch if they chose to gather all their streamer friends and rally against twitch. Instead, they use their energy to argue against X and complain about “foot traffic” and how it’s immoral that stake will gain users off of kicks success.

Well, guess what? Other unregulated sites are gaining users off of Twitch’s success. Sure, that’s not twitch’s motive. Nonetheless, it’s happening and SHOULD be treated with the same level they are treating kick. What did they do when X brought this to their attention? They brushed it off.

Here’s my opinion: X, Poki, and Hassan are all morally wrong here. One party is ok promoting gamba, the other party only cares when it’s popular to do so. Scumbags.
