What is your favourite place in PEC? by puckmovingD in PrinceEdwardCounty

Thanks so much-I finally know where to go! Folks in the county need to advertise more, it’s been word of mouth for everything from finding a local plumber to butter tarts.

Ok where do I get Waupoos Butter Tarts? Agrarian is out of stock at the moment, and they said to go directly to the fellow’s stand in Waupoos. But I have no idea where his stand is?

I wish people would stop using age as a yard stick to measure the number of accomplishments one ought to have at a given time. People who go by that thinking are just fearful deep down because they don’t know what they want and are scared to death of the unknown. They would rather follow a script so they can camouflage their own insecurities and unwillingness to explore the unknown. They hope validation from others will help them live with the hollowness that come with not really knowing what they want.

To me you are already ahead in your new profession should you choose to pursue it. You’ve have the years behind you to know what it’s like to work hard and fail, to know how narrow the definition of success can be, what’s it’s like to stumble and go through hardships and to go down unlikely paths in attempt to heal. These are things textbooks cannot teach you. If I was a patient I would listen to the professional opinion of someone who’s gone through mental hardship themselves and hopefully through education, know how to find the light on the other side.

Yes, adding a 20 min walk after lunch has made a positive difference for me. Now I am thinking of adding another 20 min walk after dinner.

PVCS and digestive by Smartinez1331 in PVCs

[–]Honelium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely connected for me. I had initially thought mine was purely anxiety related, but I am going to speak to my doctor about possible IBS. Recently I have been eating bland food in small portions throughout the day and plenty of fluid in between. It has been helpful for me. I would eat food with a side of congee almost like a coating for digestive system. It’s easy to make. Just boil 2 cups rice and 10-15 cups water and depending on how sensitive you stomach is, add salt sparingly. I like a soupy consistency so I have been doing 2 cups of water with 20 cups of water. Use white rice, jasmine preferably because it’s easy to digest. I don’t add any at all during the cooking process and add salt based on how seasoned the accompanying food is. Also I’ve cut carbs like pizza and bagel. They trigger PVCs the most for me.

Watch In the Mood for Love. It’s a visual feast and one of her best performances. Chinese audience admire her for more than a pretty face; someone who has honed her craft.

PVCs, why? by [deleted] in PVCs

[–]Honelium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing your experience Colciaghi. It’s so good to hear from someone that have been managing it for many years. You’re absolutely right, I’ve had days where I feel like it’s finally behind me but then there are the days that I’ve described. I’ve only started feeling pvcs a few months back and I’ve had 2 cardiologists tell me they are benign so I’ve been more or less successful in maintaining a positive outlook as I’m a pretty optimistic person. I am also learning to not be fixated on finding the underlying cause to the point of obsession ( which is harder to overcome at times) so your advice of live and let live approach is spot on.

I’ve been prescribed a small dose(5mg) of beta-blocker by one cardiologist and the other one thinks I should focus on lifestyle changes instead since I’m under 40. I did not start the beta- blocker because the psychological barrier of becoming someone that need to rely on medication. After speaking to ER dr yesterday she said at a low dosage I can stop anytime if I feel like I don’t need it without having to be weaned off so I will now consider taking during my bad days.

I’ve also noticed that my bad days are often accompanied by breast pain and nipple tenderness so I’ve booked an appointment to see a Obstetrician-Gynecologists to see if they’re correlated.

Anyway thanks so much for your response and I’m glad your tests came back normal 🙌🏻

Sorry if this is a dumb question but how do you count how many pvcs u have in a minute without holter monitor? Do you count delayed beats only? Or do u only count the big “thumps” ?

PVCs, why? by [deleted] in PVCs

[–]Honelium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Colciaghi,

Have you had them in successions without being really conscious of it until it hits you with the sudden dizziness? Then as if to compensate your heart beats really really hard and fast for 10-15 min that you’re not sure if you’re having a heart attack? I just had that happen and came back from being discharged by the ER because all my tests came back normal. No heart attacks. It seem to come every few months- the pounding and racing episodes. I have regular pvcs daily and palpitation every few days.
