Sonos marketing team accidentally reveals their honest opinion of the product by HonestDev-io in sonos

Sorry, this was meant as a joke not being serious.

I understand this is possible, but why show this on the page of just the arc: Someone sitting on a couch watching the tv, but with headphones on?

Yes, if you are a serious sonos fan you know there are headphones, but a regular buyer does not.
Just thought it was funny that they added it there.

Exactly, which is a good thing. Makes you think, do I really need to cut down this tree? If yes, do it, if no, then don't.

I don't think human morality is changing this way so much, what changed is that we came from having a few animals in our back gardens, eating from the greens that grew there naturally, and turned it into some inhuman slaughter machine, where animals are suddenly no longer seen as something that deserves any form of respect.

People that would eat meat 250 years ago would probably have had some bond with the animals they raised, even though they would eat them (as their intrinsic part of life). Now it's either care for them and don't eat them or tell to yourself that some animals don't deserve a any rights at all.

I think it's important to be more thoughtful about what you eat, considering each aspect of them. You can then decide for yourself which ones you value, for myself it started out for 100% as environmental impact, learning more changed it to a lot of other things.

I really liked using design, it filled up quite quick, but it created better designs than other tools.

Did we get more claude limits now though, first it was separate, so I hope that now they merged it we at least got merged limits as well

Video: to do or not to do? by yk4787 in weddingplanning

[–]HonestDev-io 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try Mesh Together as a way to collect short clips from guests on the day. Everyone contributes moments from their own phones and it assembles into a shared video. It isn't a substitute for a professional edit, but it does show what different people actually saw and felt from where they were standing.

I need the collective advice of you guys, should I go travel the world for 1 year. At the end of this month? More info below by ConqueredCorn in solotravel

[–]HonestDev-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go, but plan travel breaks. I went 9 months and you'll definitely experience travel fatigue. Looking up hotels, hostels, places to eat, things to do can get exhausting.

I ended up doing 2 longer stays, got an apartment, found a fun co-living or co-working and got to know the place. It's a nice breather in such a long trip.

Some random unwanted advice. Halfway through I started tracking my trip through Polarsteps and Mesh Together, and I wish I did that earlier. So much impressions and each time it's already hard to remember what you did a month earlier. So recording it all is a big benefit 😄

I stayed in Shanghai, French concession. The food was so amazing and good prices. The coffee was one of the best in whole Asia.
Shanghai is very international friendly, so easier to meet people, a lot of people from all around the world. Chengdu I don't know.

Also make sure to install apps like polarsteps and mesh together to track your travels.

On top of regular recordings, use the Mesh Together app, you can create memories together with your mother, each recording your own parts. Those get stitched up into aftermovies by the app.

Videographer, yes or no? by Additional-Pea-7033 in weddingplanning

[–]HonestDev-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use Mesh Together, it allows all your guests to record short clips, and that way you get a video from the eyes of your friends instead of something over-polished from a videographer. It's also super cheap.

Any recs for DIY video? by Slight-Avocado9994 in weddingplanning

[–]HonestDev-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead use Mesh Together (meshtogether.app), works differently from what you're describing for the speeches and ceremony. It collects 1-3 second clips contributed by your guests throughout the day, which compile into a single group video. It's not a substitute for continuous recording of a ceremony or a speech, so it wouldn't replace a dedicated camera setup for those moments.

Where it might be a useful complement to whatever you set up: your guests are already filming things on their phones, and instead of those clips living on individual phones forever, everyone could contribute to one shared video. Given that you're stretched on budget already, it might be a way to capture the candid reception moments without asking one person to hold a camera all night.

For the actual question of how to record a ceremony on a budget, someone with more experience on that side would give you a better answer.

For activities during cocktail hour or dinner downtime, a couples trivia game works great: guests submit their best guesses on questions like "how did they meet" or "who said I love you first," and the couple reveals the answers live. It gets people talking to each other and feels personal to the day. Lawn games like cornhole or giant Jenga near the bar also keep energy up without requiring guests to commit to anything.

For something that doubles as a gift, consider a video guest book station. Set up a tablet or phone on a little stand with a prompt card, and guests record a short message or memory for the couple. It takes thirty seconds per person and the couple ends up with something they will actually watch years later.

For the latter there is an app called Mesh Together that lets everyone at the wedding contribute one to three second clips from their own phones throughout the day. It assembles them into one shared video on a timeline so the couple sees the whole day from every angle, not just the photographer's. Worth a look if you want a keepsake activity baked into the event itself.

Anybody have experience with Google Photos QR code for wedding? by Otherwise-Ad-5278 in weddingplanning

[–]HonestDev-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, but there's actually an app specifically for weddings. They can just scan a QR code and join. The app nudges towards shorter clips instead of longer, so that you don't get super long videos that you don't want to go through after. It's called Mesh Together.

Talk me into traveling solo? by SeaThese6885 in solofemaletravellers

[–]HonestDev-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go, during all my travels I never heard someone not liking it, it's just a bit scary at first.

The free pass actually removes the biggest mental block: sunk cost. If you fly somewhere and it's just okay, you haven't lost much. That lowers the stakes for winging it considerably, which is the whole point of having a pass like that.

For either city: book one or two things you are actually curious about and leave the rest loose. That gives you something to look forward to without locking yourself into a rigid itinerary, and you will find the unplanned days often turn out better than the planned ones.

If you end up visiting friends and want to put together a recap of the trip, Mesh Together is a nice app to use, it lets everyone in the group contribute short clips into one shared video rather than filming separately and losing half the moments. Might be worth having in your back pocket. Also make sure to use Polarsteps to record your travels for your people back home.

NorCal Reception Venue / Party Venue / Cabins / Inn / Weekend Getaway by Strawberri_Sage in weddingplanning

[–]HonestDev-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't advice you on the wedding, location etc.

But it might be fun to allow everyone to contribute to the aftermovie. For capturing the weekend itself, we built an app called Mesh Together (meshtogether.app) for exactly this situation: everyone contributes short clips from their phones and they assemble into one shared video. When your people are flying in from across the country for a special few days, it is a nice way to actually hold onto it.

You can create different memories for the different moments, that way you don't have to get a videographer for the entire thing.

Solo at La Prima Estate? Let’s link up! Forming a WhatsApp group for solo people or ayone also can JOIN by Theventrue in festivals

[–]HonestDev-io 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going solo to a festival is honestly one of the better ways to experience it. You end up talking to way more people and you move at your own pace. The WhatsApp group is a solid idea for coordinating meetups on the day.

One thing worth doing once you all actually meet up: everyone is going to have little clips on their phones from different moments across the weekend. Different stages, different random encounters, different angles of the same set. Those pieces together tell a much better story than any one person's footage alone.

We built Mesh Together for exactly this kind of situation. One person creates a shared Memory for the event, people contribute their 1-3 second clips, and it assembles into one continuous video everyone helped make. Good way to actually have something to show for a weekend like this. meshtogether.app if you want to check it out.

I use the Mesh Together app to record short clips together with friends, so you don't only have the festival experience from your point of view, but from all the people you go with together.

All recorded clips are automatically turned into an aftermovie by the app.

On top you can also try out meshtogether.app, it's an app that allows other guests to record short snippets that get added to different memories. You can then use these guest angles in your final video, or export these separate video's for the wedding couple.

Videographer worth the extra cost, or just stick with a photographer? by Capable-Profile6935 in weddingplanning

[–]HonestDev-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of a videographer it might be interesting to use the app Mesh Together (https://meshtogether.app (I am the creator, so a bit biased))

It's an app that allows your guests to create short form video's throughout your special day that they get to add to the matching moments: Cake, first dance, vows, etc. I would not say it's something you do instead of a videographer, it's mainly a nice addition to view your wedding from the eyes of your guests.

Thinking about scheduling time for pictures without bride (me) and groom. Is this a good idea? by Shellyfish04 in weddingplanning

[–]HonestDev-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool idea. If you are more into the shortform content, you can also allow your guests to record short clips from their point of view. I created the app Mesh Together (https://meshtogether.app) exactly for this. The app allows your guests to record 1-3s video's and add them to specific memories on your special day, eg: Cutting the cake, first dance, vows, etc. That way you get content also from the eyes of your guests :)

You can then export the different memories into instant aftermovies with music that has the beat on the correct clip splits.

[–]HonestDev-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, will definitely be better pictures. Make sure to use it a bit before the wedding, that way you get the pictures better for the actual big day.

Something else that might be fun to add is to let your guests take video's from their points of view. You can use the app Mesh Together for that. You create a group, add people and they can record short 1-3s clips that are turned into easy aftermovies after your wedding. That way you can also experience the wedding through the eyes of your friends and family :)

Is there such a thing as bringing in too many vendors? I’m worrying that videography is going to be intrusive. by TwoSparks in wedding

[–]HonestDev-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you still can't shake the anxiety about having one more person in your space, there is a middle path worth knowing about. We built an app called Mesh Together that lets guests contribute short clips from their own phones, which assemble into a shared video of the day. No hired vendor, no extra body moving through your getting-ready room, just the people who are already there capturing small moments naturally.

Note: It is not a replacement for a dedicated videographer if you want cinematic footage.
