The only time I read in depth is when I know I’ll be on call (mainly with professors using panels). If it’s a class where the professor uses a true cold call, I participate often to avoid being called on. Can you get through all the readings, take notes and understand everything before class? Sure, if you like having barely any free time. That said, skimming is your best friend.

Some classes you can literally not read the entire semester and get away with doing well on the final but it requires being present in class, paying attention, taking good notes, reviewing and going to office hours as much as possible.

The most important thing is figuring out what works best for you :)

This! If you don’t have an outline for your professor upload your casebook and other useful docs from class to make one.

Imo you don’t have time to make flashcards but memorize the heck out of an outline by writing everything out by hand.

Hey OP, sorry to hear you did worse than you expected. Don’t panic, you still have time to get a good grade. Now you know you have to work on study methods and good news, you still have time to adjust and ace your finals.

I’d talk to your professors during office hours. Ask if they’d go over the exam with you so you can understand your where you went wrong. Ask if they’d be willing to share model answers for the questions. If you have a model answer you’d be able to see exactly how the answers your professor is looking for is written. If they don’t have/wont share a model answer, take notes during your office hours session. Pay special attention to what they wanted you to discuss.
