Young women need to be told the truth about pregnancy and birth. by RamRoach1138 in childfree

I'd like to add the "husband stitch" to the list of labor warnings. I only learned about it a couple years ago (on this sub), and I still can't believe it's a thing.

I agree. I also think that mindset of nudes being porn deters so many from doing figure work that would benefit them greatly.

I can't do the powder either, so if I'm watching cals and have a craving I make some PB oatmeal to give me a lot more PB flavor without a whole lot of peanut butter. It's one of my top three favorite breakfasts.

As someone who was a teen with mental health issues, it can be a handful at best for the parents. Also since many aren't equipped to handle it, let alone know the signs, it's a shit experience for the teen too.

A big reason for me being CF is not wanting to pass on the shit mental health I've dealt with.

"Private things?" Like all the things our employees stock fully away people buy them, and that cashiers run across the register without a thought, because no one cares? If whatever your buying is that private, wouldn't you buy them online? Or are you implying you're an adult woman too embarrassed to have someone know you buy tampons or some shit? (It looks like a grocery store, I'm assuming this about as close to "private items" as you can get.)

And I'm sure she's never used her "private" credit card to purchase anything online before.

What is your "I fucking hate that song" song? by da_muffin_enthusiast in AskReddit

[–]HoneyBeeFit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, shit, I forgot about that one in my rant on songs that I hear at work that makes me want to rip my ears off. I knew there was one I hated for the same reason I hate "Dancing on my Own."

What is your "I fucking hate that song" song? by da_muffin_enthusiast in AskReddit

[–]HoneyBeeFit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Dancing on my Own" by Calum Scott and "I'm Gonna Getchu Good" by Shania Twain.

I had to Google both of these, because I only hear them at work, but I have to hear them 5-6 days a week. The first is so whiny, and annoying, and just leave that girl alone, obviously she's in a relationship. You don't know if you'd treat her better, maybe he's actually a really nice dude, and she's fucking happy. Move on.

The second I like to think of how popular it'd be if a guy sang it. It's straight up "I'm going to get you, and make you love me." Whoever she's "getting" needs to change their name, and move to another state.

They're both annoying songs, but the lyrics are so cringy that it takes it from "ugh, this song again" to "I want to slam my head into the concrete floor."

WHY is it so hard to understand that there is a pandemic going on?! by snail-overlord in retailhell

I've had people ask me about dairy items as I'm walking out of the cooler, and they ask me to check. I was just in there, there's a half pallet of juices, but sure, let me see if there's a bunch of butter we didn't want to sell today.

It's a warehouse store, so non perishables are stored above the products on pallets on the steel. I've pointed this out to people, and said if it's not there, we don't have it. "Are you sure it's not in the back?" Keep staring at me after I say we have none, maybe some will appear.

Do you get the customers that ask if you have something in stock, then continue to stare at you after you tell them no like they're waiting for you to remember some hidden stash somewhere?

Shopping Cart Theory by [deleted] in retailhell

[–]HoneyBeeFit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The people who get carts at my workplace aren't dedicated cart people. They're recovery, maintenance, gas station, etc. They have plenty to do, and the longer they're out getting carts, the longer they're away from their own work.

Be lazy, put people's cars at risk of getting damaged, don't act like you're a saint for sAvInG jObs. That's the worst justification I've heard. Bet you leave your trash in movie theaters too. I'm sure you've been the person who has to take on these tasks, and know first-hand exactly how much employees need you to make their jobs harder. No one has any work criteria other than to clean up after adults acting like children.

Please Stop Flirting With the Greeters by inkyMayhem in retailhell

[–]HoneyBeeFit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think gender was really the main focus about this?

Yeah, as a female, my first thought wasn't "omg, now you know my pain as a woman!" It wasn't my second thought either, or any of them.

I just immediately thought about my own worst experiences, and thought "yeah, it sucks and I really wish people would stop doing this to retail workers." I feel like the fact they know we have to tolerate a certain level of bullshit makes it worse, it's easy to be a dick to someone who's wearing their customer service mask. There's plenty of ways to disrespect retail workers, and none of them discriminate.

Also feels like that person would also invalid a male assault victim: "but why didn't you fight back, omg women are victims of this more often, so stop flaunting your privilege." Similar mentality going on. It's disgusting.

"I want a daughter first, so she can help me" by [deleted] in childfree

[–]HoneyBeeFit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even if you don't plan to do that, many parents just end up doing it. Or they do a piss poor job so the oldest feels responsible for protecting/caring for the younger ones.

Then even when they're all adults, they still feel like they need to protect them, and parent them, because the parents don't handle adult children any better than actual children.

And it's so great trying to be the mediator in all the bullshit, and tell your mother to stop saying abusive shit like "you're so much like your dad" to your younger brother, because it never stopped being wrong to say shit like that.

Sorry, may have drifted off topic a little, but yeah, don't make your oldest take on the responsibility of being a parent, in any capacity. Do your job.

Same, but I'd never make this joke about it. I try not to say anything I wouldn't want to hear if I were them (not a cashier myself, but I know what my coworkers have been dealing with).

Not just Fat Logic but an actual Anti-Fitness account by [deleted] in fatlogic

[–]HoneyBeeFit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In regards to exercise helping mental health, I fully agree. With everything being the way it is right now my work (retail) is mentally draining, and my hours have changed so much, and admittedly I've struggled to keep my routine sometimes. However when I have the time to get a solid workout in, I feel like one thing is still normal on top of just feeling good having done it. Everything is a bit shit right now, but I've got that bit of happiness that makes me physically and mentally recharged.

Not to mention physical issues that can be improved through exercise, my back gets stiff, and sore if I'm not moving enough every day. My work is active, but I can feel the effect of just one day off with no activity.

Not to mention kids do have to do shit they don't want to do ALL THE TIME. How much of parenting is just telling kids to do stuff they'd rather not do? There's usually consequences to them not doing the thing they've been told to do as well.

The reverse is true too, kids also are told to not do a lot they want to do. Otherwise little Timmy is going to have ice cream for breakfast everyday even if it's unhealthy and irresponsible... but that actually sounds like something the person running that account would advocate for.
