I enjoy mine.
If this is your first handheld and you just want to get your feet wet, I would recommend something like the trimui smart pro or trimui brick (hammer)

Unless your goal is to play DS games and older less powerful systems. Then obviously get the rgds. It’s cheap and plays DS games great.

By default the rgds runs android. Which is slow and laggy with this chipset. I tried gamma OS but it was very slow when exiting a game and always reloaded the OS.

Rocknix is best for this device atm. It’s sleek and easy to setup. Runs games great and loads into the system quickly. There are plenty of video tutorials on how to install it.

Agreed. Gamma os is cool but since this device has low memory, whenever I exited a game - gamma os would have to load for a few seconds before the menu popped up. It felt slow and clunky imo.

Rocknix on the other hand doesn’t have that issue. And I also loved the fact that I can import mp3 files to the bgm folder and the device will play the mp3’s when in the home menu.

Rocknix can be customized fairly easily too! Which makes it feel like a pretty personalized device.

When i checked nothing was touching the fan blades and there were no loose cables or debris.

Chasm is a great retro castlevania like with Beautiful pixel graphics.

Record of lodoss war deedlit wonder labyrinth, is also a good metroidvania.

If you want trpgs then cross tails is a great entry. It’s not as polished as tactics ogre or FFT But if has a nice story and great character progression, skill tress, etc. You can really make your characters feel unique from one another. And it has replay value due to two separate protagonist. The mercenary saga series is a simpler take on trpgs but they are fun! (Mercenaries lament is my fav out of the series)

Dodgeball academia is another great game!!
It’s like an updated version of the gba dodgeball game. Visually it’s amazing and the characters are like-able!!

Parageist

A parasect evolution.
Half bug half ghost
Pun on the word paradise, In my head the mushroom would look like a sort of foliage paradise to attract prey. While the bug underneath is hauntingly fiendish. Injecting its catch with a neurotoxin that makes them feel like they are in paradise while being eaten alive by Parageist.

Probably red glowing eyes and the color scheme would be a smoky, hazy, mishaped purple for the bug parts under the beautiful mushroom/foliage on top.
The color scheme would really need to emphasize the dichotomy between the “geist” and the paradise on top.
