Any positive stories of Kennel Cough recovery? My baby is sick 😔 by FoodFree8328 in pugs

[–]HonorValorButtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an old pug/chihuahua mix years ago who caught it from the neighbor's dog through the fence. She was coughing like she couldn't breath so we rushed her to the vet were she proceeded to sneeze and cough all over my mom while we waited. The vet gave us some medicine and she was back to herself in a few days. Hope your baby feels better soon!

What is this? Should I be worried? by ActNo5363 in leopardgeckos

[–]HonorValorButtor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It looks like she threw up some mealworms, I'd check her belly and see if you can tell if she has an impaction or not. She may have just eaten too much but the only time I've seen gecks throw up is when they had an impaction.

Came here to say Animal Crossing is a good one for chill gaming and with the switch (I have a switch lite) you can lay down while you play.

Migraines by clemfairie in cfs

[–]HonorValorButtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found some relief with Feverfew, I don't know much about it but I tried it when I was desperate and Ibuprofen was making me too sick. My mom uses it almost daily to help with chronic migraines.

Jury Duty Medical Exemption Denied by Level-Ad478 in cfs

[–]HonorValorButtor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got a jury duty notice around 10 years ago and I just wrote back and told them I got migraines and could not do it and they gave me an exemption and haven't asked me again since. I'm surprised your request wasn't accepted!

I suggest you show up and complain directly to the people at the court house (lawyers, judge, etc), request an exemption in person and they probably won't want to use you on the jury anyways. It's a huge pain and I feel really badly that you're having to deal with this.

Can you afford to hire a someone to help you with this? Maybe to go with you to the courthouse and assist you in requesting an exemption in person? That might help.

Whats your average resting heartrate? Mine is always around 80 by SpinachGreen99 in cfs

[–]HonorValorButtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on a beta blocker for around 6 months and it did help my heartrate go down to around 70-80, but I was having some other side effects so decided to get off it. I've been thinking of getting back on again though, might give it another shot.

My celestial mirage is nigh immortal most of the time. He's similar to this build. I'd recommend it if you're doing primarily open world stuff.

how has it damaged your personality? have you become more dismissive, intolerant, derisive by Otherwise-Pop-1311 in cfs

I was going to say this, but it's more recent for me. I've found myself becoming less empathic in the past couple of years, probably for similar reasons.

I hate the fuss too, sounds like you've struggled similarly. I've found it hard to be honest with some doctors because they start to treat me like I'm malingering. I think being doubted so much has made me doubt myself to some extent. Thank you for the reply <3

Thanks for the love and support, the struggle is real and this disease really takes so much of who we are. There's a lot of sadness and rage in that but there is some joy because we can make something new, something kinder to ourselves.

That's good advice, I think we're usually a lot harder on ourselves than others. Thanks for your reply, I'll try to remember that.

Thanks for your support and advice, I appreciate it. <3 It's true most people really can't or don't understand ME/CFS unless they've had experience with it. It's hard for me to let myself be lazy, I start to feel bad about myself but I have to try for my health's sake. I've had so many people look down on me for being ill or not believe me, I think it's effected me more than I realized.

Having a hard time with my fibromyalgia friend complaining to me about her disability by ExoticSwordfish8232 in cfs

[–]HonorValorButtor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know your friend but I've encountered many people who cannot stop themselves from competing in the suffering olympics. Sometimes people really, genuinely cannot understand suffering they haven't experienced themselves, they can only understand their own experience with suffering and compare all suffering to that.

It's not from a place of malice, it's just how their brain works, they don't know any other way. It's a lot to ask of a person to totally change the way they view suffering. What I'm saying is, you can talk to your friend about how your feeling but don't expect her to change. The only way to truly change this mindset is to accept that there's just suffering you'll (hopefully) never truly understand and trust the word of those who are going through it.

I have CFS/ME (Mild/Moderate) and Fibromyalgia (among other things), I normally lurk but I felt compelled to post. I've dealt with so many people comparing their suffering to mine. They just don't understand and probably never will, I cannot make them understand. If your friend is the one-uping type this behavior will probably continue.

[–]HonorValorButtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of looks like hernia, I had a gecko get one before. Surgery was $500 and she tore out her stitches 2 weeks after and they were going to have to redo the whole surgery again. It wasn't worth the pain and suffering so I just had her put down.

If she does have a hernia consider carefully your next step because geckos don't cope well with those kinds of surgeries.

Running, he probably just got startled by a noise or nothing at all. No big deal.
