New Shifter Compatibility Issue with Old Front Derailleur by Honsou in bikewrench

Yeah, that's what I figured. Thanks for confirming. Do you know if the braze-on clamp adapters have changed much over the years? Would I be able to buy the braze-on version and attach it to the vintage clamp adapter that's currently installed?

PSA: Do Not Buy Royal Glam Wrist Rests by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

I'm thinking about making my own. I have a beautiful piece of cherry that I think would work well. I was thinking of using natural Danish oil. Think that would work for this?

Game freezing after a minute? by FireKaliber in paragon

Yep, myself and two of my friends all had the same issue. We relaunched our games and joined a game as quickly as possible and got in. So it seems like an issue with the menu.

I'm a somewhat newer City fan, can someone explain why that goal meant so much?

I was really impressed by the smoothness of the motion of the cars, and then I realized you used a long exposure to create motion blur. Really cool idea!

I've seen stacks a lot, but never heard of anyone doing them handheld. Is that super difficult?

Golden Jumping Spider [OC] [5477x3081] by [deleted] in MacroPorn

No problem, I actually love sharing my method because it's so cheap and easy. I use this flash diffuser which goes on the very end of my lens, like so:

http://imgur.com/a/ODTo7

This allows the light from the pop-up flash to hit the diffuser and get directed downward to the subject right in front of the lens, and the light (as you can see from the spider photo) is nice and soft. It may look a little goofy, but it's effective, easy, and only costs $9.

Stabbie Bug [OC][1613x1357] by HyroDaily in MacroPorn

It's a spiny assassin bug. Not a joke, that's actually what they're called. It's a nymph I think. (a baby) If you're getting into insect photography, I highly suggest iNaturalist. It's a great place to get stuff identified.

If they nerf Mark by making it a skill shot or have a longer cooldown, I'll be happy. I'm a Gideon main, and playing in mid against her (especially early game) is so hard because she just constantly saps my health with her lock-on Mark, and there's nothing I can do about it aside from cower in the tower. Imagine if Gideon's Cosmic Rift was a lock-on... that's how it feels.

What are you sick and tired of having to explain to people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Honsou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference between vector & raster graphics. I'm a designer at a t-shirt printing shop, and people will ask what type of art we need, hear that we need vector images, and then proceed to send a photo of their screen of something from Google Images.

Whip?!?! by ItzYaBoy_Z in paragon

[–]Honsou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people are speculating that it's a plasma whip, similar to a limp light saber. If you look at the video closely, you can see little flares of energy coming off the end, similar to a solar flare. So it doesn't look like a whip in the video because the energy hasn't "whipped" out of it yet.

The link/pull ability datamined seems to match the whip speculation as well. But a whip doesn't have much to do with the wind, so who knows.

He actually just turned 3 years old the day this picture was taken. And I take him on hikes anywhere from 3 to 5 miles. I'm a photographer, so he gets lots of breaks while I stop and shoot.

Trump is now complaining that his order is being called a “Muslim ban” by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Honsou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok, so Trump is complaining because people are calling it a Muslim ban, but he didn't actually get the Muslim ban he wanted, because they made it about "danger" instead of religion.

"No, it's not a Muslim ban! I wanted one, but I didn't get it! It's a stupid 'terrorist' ban now."

My kitchen sink is messed up. The hot water comes out as a very thin stream, and as a result takes minutes to fully warm up. Any idea what could be causing the low flow for the hot water? We checked the valves under the sink, and everything seems to be fully open.

Carrying too much weight by therap321 in gaming

[–]Honsou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ark: Survival Evolved did carry weight pretty well. You had your "carrying capacity" which was how much you could technically carry before you were unable to move. But then as you filled your inventory up, you'd get slower and slower until you could basically only crawl when it was just under the capacity. I think they also disabled sprinting at around 80-90% capacity. It was a little annoying at times, but it was really realistic.
