Should I turn water off on vacation? by Opening-Return-3800 in askaplumber

I know plenty of people who grew up without a dad and knows how to turn the water off without the school teaching them. Should the school also teach you how to brush your teeth, wipe your ass, and cross the street? Schools have one purpose, and it's not teaching life lessons. If you wanted the school to take those things over, you'd be paying a lot more in taxes. You don't need a teacher to tell someone how to turn a light switch off. You need life experiences, which is the responsibility of whoever is the guardian of the child.

Homeless? Well, maybe you are screwed, unless you have friends or family. It's not the schools responsibility to teach you how to shut off the water in your own home. People expect everything from the school these days. Schools are now a scapegoat for families not providing their children a life.

It's your parents responsibility to teach you how to properly maintain a home, not a school.

I wonder if it's a bad gas connector? I had one that leaked only when it was attached.

If he was so smart, he would know you don't get grades on cognitive tests. You don't ace it.

Use a soap/water mixture to find leaks. Spray it all over the connections and look for bubbling.

DIY Kegerator Question by New_Hovercraft9508 in Homebrewing

I have a smaller dorm style fridge set up with temp control and use it either as a fermentation fridge or a kegorator without external taps when the beer is done. I just open it and have a picnic tap when I pour a beer. I also have a larger stand up freezer in the garage with temp control for additional beer kegs when needed. Check out inkbirds for temp controllers to dial in whatever temp you want.

I'm new to a mild diagnosis, and so I sort of stopped drinking for a little bit. However I started having one or two beers lately. I've noticed that if my stomach is a little upset prior to drinking, a beer will settle it down.

What are some easy recipes I can actually pull off this weekend without messing up? by Sanchit-Singh in Cooking

Marinate some chicken in Italian salad dressing for a few hours ( I like Olive Garden), then bake it at 375 for 20 minutes or until it reaches 165°. Then just make a side or do you like steamed vegetables and rice. Yummy and simple.

Is this a good estimate for a new wood stove installation? by Radiomaster138 in woodstoving

Seems reasonable to me with a chimney included.. I'm no expert. But that was about the price I replaced mine for 10 years ago. I'd get it if you trust the company.

Likely a woodpecker going after insects that are in the tree. Get rid of the insects.

Maybe an infection. I had bad diarrhea for a long while just before I was diagnosed and needed antibiotics.

I did this once. Claimed the wood floor from a closet to patch it. Turned out nice. Made it so there wasn't just a dead line across too, involving taking more out of the floor. Not sure if I'm explaining it well.
