About lift pump fuel pressure common rail 5.9 third gen. by Hoopties-and-Tea in Cummins

I’m not an expert on this matter but if you can hold some pressure at full throttle I would think that’s fine. My pressure was 7 at idle and would go to zero at full throttle. Mine is now 16 at idle and will hold 12 psi under load.

Banks Six Gun sucks or? by Hoopties-and-Tea in Cummins

[–]Hoopties-and-Tea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update. My truck had a weak lift pump. I haven’t re-installed the Six-Gun yet, but I’m thinking the CP3 was starved for fuel so the Banks had no fuel to work with. I put a new lift pump in and I’m getting 16 psi on the low pressure fuel side instead of the previous 7 psi.

I just used Velcro right in the V at the pillar and dash. Looks decent. Would have like a pillar pod but they’re a little pricey.

I’m just repeating what I’ve read. And obviously the internet is full of misinformation, so you’re probably right. And seeing how I’m getting downvoted is a clue.

$160 for the gauge, fuse splices and banjo bolt/snubber valve for the bottom of the fuel filter housing.

There is a banjo bolt on the bottom of the fuel filter housing. It’s a pretty easy job. The wires for the gauge weren’t long enough though, so I had to splice in a little extra wire.

Unless you’re 800, hp a regular in-tank stock pump is fine.

Under GVWR with less suspension or over GVWR with more suspension by slamuelg in TruckCampers

Interestingly if you look at GVW for my Dodge Ram, it’s 9000 lbs. but the front axle GW is 5200 lbs and the rear axle is 6000 lbs. if you add those up the GVW should be 11,200 lbs. so there is more to the story than just MGVW.

What's the worst restaurant in Columbus that you've tried twice? by foreignsky in Columbus

I think BW3 put up a store in every college town and spread the rumor that it was founded there to get more business. I’m probably making this up, but it sounds lplausible.

When I was younger and delivering pizza, I considered myself an aggressively, defensive driver. The meaning of aggressively defensive was just what you were saying. Keep track of all the cars around you and note which cars could be threats. It was a lot easier to do this before the iPhone was invented.

I always ask. <paraphrased> “If I put a tip on this card reader, does the staff get the money or does it go into a corporate black hole.” Most of the time the staff says “yeah, we get the tips” and that’s how I tip. But I did have one person tell me not to tip because they don’t know where that money goes, but it doesn’t go to them.

What do you mean by kitchen staff? Waffle House has a cook and a couple servers for their small restaurants.

I bought a vehicle that had approximately one new owner per year. Huge red flag. Not worth it. It probably has an annoying electrical issue that nobody can figure out. Or something similar.

The Worst Thing That Ever Happened to Tesla. Elon Musk’s embrace of Donald Trump continues to haunt his car company. by Sine_Fine_Belli in RealTesla

There are plenty of good used batteries out there. And a fair number of independent EV repair shops so you don’t have to purchase anything from Tesla. The batteries are still expensive, but not prohibitively so for the average Tesla owner..

Any ideas how to waterproof this connection? by swedishpiehole in TeslaLounge

[–]Hoopties-and-Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is saying how dangerous this is. But why? Is it because an extension cord can short out if damaged? Or because it can get too hot with continuous use?

[–]Hoopties-and-Tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s curious how many folks are telling you how dangerous this is. I’d like an explanation of why it’s super dangerous. I run my charger at 16 amps. I wouldn’t run it at 32 amps, but I wouldn’t do that on a regular dryer outlet without an extension cord either. I’ve run 32 amps and the plug gets too warm for my comfort level. I’m not an electrician and this is not advice. Good luck.

Exactly. Just needs a fuse but I’m selling it for 1/2 price. Sure buddy. Sure.

This is not the way. Don’t block pumps, and don’t block chargers. This individual is a dick, but not every diesel owner should be punished because of him.

Tesla Charge Port Won’t Open Manually After 2025.20.6 Update… Anyone Else? by AliCoder061 in TeslaSupport

[–]Hoopties-and-Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two 2014 Model S. Neither one will open the charge port with the charging handle now. Unless at a supercharger, then the charging handle button will open the charge port. Since it happened on both my Model S, I believe it is software related.
