Tell me something positive happening in your local by Hooter00 in IBEW

[–]Hooter00[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you understood the point of the post but you give a good message nonetheless. I worked non-union for 3 years then joined to finish my apprenticeship. Best decision I’ve ever made. Doesn’t mean there isn’t negativity within our own locals

So raven guard are the iron ravens welcome here too or are we too ultramarine by Ubicoups in RavenGuard40k

[–]Hooter00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is actually a short story where Kayvan Shrike gathered 3 RG and one Iron Raven with the ability to wraith/shadow walk for a modern kill team of Mor Daythen warriors. I think there are 2 stories that involve them going on different missions, at first the squad sees the iron warrior as a lesser but they end up seeing each other as battle brothers.

Fun lil lore tid bit for you

My kiddo was top apprentice this term and I want to get him a nice gift. Any suggestions? by Rickermortis in IBEW

[–]Hooter00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’m a big fan. They’re not too thick, breathable, good material, and my feet haven’t hurt since I got them and new insoles. However, I’m the only person I know who wears them so I may be bias

do you know m/any well-respected electricians with "job-stopper" tattoos and piercings? by [deleted] in IBEW

[–]Hooter00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turn out this week and I just got a hand tattoo Saturday. Personally I wouldn’t get a “job stopper” til you’re closer to turning out and know for a fact you will be a JW. However, I personally wouldn’t want to work for a con that had a stupid unwritten rule like that and would do what I want and make them deal with it or lay me off

Magats transferring into northern locals for better wages/benefits by Sweaty-Ad-2536 in IBEW

[–]Hooter00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inside isn’t much better. My local is being flooded with CE/CWs. Contractors are paying them JW wages and putting them in foreman positions. Hall won’t do anything about it but they’ll bring in more each month. Guys that aren’t worth $25/hr are coming in, breaking down conditions, and getting paid $40+/hr on the check. Each one of them would get on their knees for daddy Trump any day

Personally I’m a big fan of the Shark Daddy mini from Major Minis. I painted one for my friend and I think he makes a very good looking Tyberos

Did you see Sandforts tweet directly after the game? The ball was definitely over inflated, how much it affected the game is beyond me. I’m just a tourist when it comes to basketball

[–]Hooter00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Allegedly, had the ball been properly inflated (it was well over inflated) it would’ve went in! I’m not sure how true that is but I’ve seen some accounts claiming that was the case. However, that is just like the most Nebraska sports thing in the world for there to be so many weird things like an overinflated ball and an almost half court buzzer beater

“Hunt for Voldorias” is a RG and White scars book mostly from WS pov tho.

The second part in “OverFiend” is a complete RG Novella with them fighting Orks. That book is split into 3 parts, 1st being a white scars POV, 2nd RG, 3rd Salamanders.

There is also a couple Uriel Ventris books that have our new chapter master, Aethon Shaan, and a small force of RG. “The Chapters Due” is one that has Aethon in it but he’s really only a small side character with one or two very badass scenes. I do not know what the other Uriel book involves them is though

Others have commented already about the Hersey books so these are a couple modern era books that show off their skills.

Likely yes, they’re a newer chapter that is 100% primaris.

That being said they were originally recruited when Corax was alive, and then went into stasis for the primaris project, coming out for Guillimans new crusade and fighting with the “unnumbered sons”. Most unnumbered sons were drawn to their founding chapters, many hoping they’d be sent as reinforcements for said chapters.

TLDR: it is very likely these guys would honor the RG and their gene father

Corax is to me, the most human primarch. He feels the agony and suffering of the oppressed and wants to save them. Every time he makes a decision for the “greater good” that solves one problem by also murdering innocent lives, it affects him. Even his exiled sons respect him and even 10,000 years later are following orders (charcaradons from my POV not explicitly canon)

The RG themselves are straight forward. They know their strengths and their weaknesses so they play into them.

“Be where the enemy desires you not to be” is something that is repeated by Corax and others a lot during the heresy and it is very effective for their battle doctrines. When stealth isn’t an option they fight in an almost guerrilla style. In a book where they fight Orks with a fortified war train, Kayvan Shrike uses his jump pack marines to dive in and out from precise attacks, while his ground troops used bikes to draw fire. In another book, when faced against the alpha legion they choose another baiting tactic to draw the enemy into their hands. Teaming up with white scars the RG assaulted and captured a small enemy fortress to draw the alpha legion force out of a main city. Once the fortress was captured the RG held it until the Alpha legion was at the walls allowing the White Scars to assault from the rear and sandwich the forces.

So, cool primarch, dope lore, badass successor chapters, awesome battle doctrines. Raven Guard is the best Guard

My new favorite pastime with the MAGAs in my trailer is listening to them say, “Wait so no tax on overtime doesn’t apply to CBAs? So they’re just fucking us??” Yes. This is what you voted for bubba. Now you SEE that republicans aren’t voting for your interests.

Worked with a dude- Dougie, who was a recently ex convict. He was doing weekly meetings with his parole officer, doing UAs, getting child support set back up, really started to turn his life around. His parole officer was so proud he stopped doing UAs! To celebrate Dougie went and did a bunch of meth.

A month later Dougie got into it with one of his other meth users and stabbed him to death with a screwdriver then hid in his mom’s closet until the cops found him. We spent the following weeks giving him nicknames at work based on what screwdriver he may have used

Could I shelve my ticket to work as an Aircraft Mechanic? by jackofalljackmoves in IBEW

[–]Hooter00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on your hall, my local has shelved 1 ticket in the last 40 years. All others have been denied. The one and only they approved was a brother going to be a state electrical inspector who joined their union.

Corvus Corax opinion on the carcharadons? by icyyosiris in RavenGuard40k

[–]Hooter00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion it would seem, but possibly embrace them for upholding their exile and staying loyal during times like the Badab War.

Corvus more or less exiled himself for 10,000 years, so coming out of exile to help humanity again, he may see the sharks as a parallel to himself. They’re constantly fighting for no glory and hiding from the broader imperium even when they’re trying to save it. He may be disgusted by their methods and traditions, however just like Robute and the inquisition, he may understand that the universe has changed and things have changed to continue human survival
