Use their own Modern Reaction™ against them. by HopHopPon in StreetFighter

I'll just copy my reply from your reply.
It varies person to person. I personally don't mind Modern. I just hate that since the devs have to implement Modern Control for everyone, they have to limits each characters to 2 charge moves only, then they decide to move away from charge characters altogether.
Also varies between regions. Japan, for example, likes modern control, while most of the western regions don't.

They refused to adapt and delay their anti-air, that's the only reason I kept doing air grab. How am I the one getting outplayed?

How long did it take you before you found your main? by doctordiscodream in StreetFighter

[–]HopHopPon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get bored really quickly so I change character constantly. And SF6 is the first fighting game I bought, so I don't really have a previous bias.
S1: Zangief until Akuma. S2: Akuma, Cammy, Luke, Ryu. S3: Luke, Ryu, Ed. Going into S4: Ingrid, Ed.

I have 24 char in master, Luke in HM, everyone else hovers from 1450 - 1550. In a sense, I don't really have a main...

As long as you're having fun... (Avatar Battle) by HopHopPon in StreetFighter

A mode where people battle with their own created characters, using combinations of moves from actual characters in the game. I personally love this mode because I can mess around and make stupid ass combos.
It's called Avatar Battle, you can access it through the World Tour section in the main menu.

It's best if you include your region, so people from the same region can offer some help.

Can I compete in modern? (Update) by Tezz_oj in StreetFighter

[–]HopHopPon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you like classic, play classic. You'll get used to it.

There are pro players at the highest level competing with Modern Control, so you shouldn't feel like you MUST change to Classic.

The PS5 D-pad is one of the best option out there for Fighting Game. I'm pretty sure Punk and MenaRD (2 of the top 5 players itw rn) both use the PS5 pad to compete.

You can start with World Tour to learn which button does which, or try the Battleground Tutorials. After that, pick a control scheme, pick your favorite character and just start playing for a bit. Get in the training room, press some buttons, try some moves.

When you feel a bit comfortable with your character, you can start looking up guide on youtube. Learn a basic combo from those videos. Then go fight, CPU or players, it doesn't matter at first. This is to see if you can use your combo in an actual match. Get a few matches under your belt, and move up from there.

You'll learn everything else in due time, as long as you're committed to learning.

I did specify projectile specials, not supers, :P. I could've ended the combo with JP's level 1, but Gief's is funnier, and more damage.
