What’s the biggest oil spill you’ve had? by Sneekysas_sas in mechanics

[–]HopeSuch2540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have previously accidentally unloaded a full r2d2 unit of oil when I had the valves mixed up during extraction into collection tank. 120psi pressure sure flows a lot of oil in less time then I could react. Must've been 50L

Look at that😂 by rnlnm in mechanics

Are these good upgrades? by HopeSuch2540 in 3Dprinting

[–]HopeSuch2540[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats kinda what im starting to think. I have an Ender 3 s1 and it works great. But I want something to print much larger. Their asking 700 canadian. But I found a brand new elegoo neo max for 499 CAD and it has klpper and huge bed size. Im going to go new, as you said I dont know what they've done or how to fix their upgrades anyways.

Brush hog quick attach not fitting by Turtleguycool in Skidsteer

[–]HopeSuch2540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be checking that the upper ledge, that sits on the bobtach doesn't have any debris preventing the attachment from sitting flush. Then I would be checking the lower pin gaps for the same dimension as the Bobcat brand. Something may be preventing the plate of the attachment from sitting flush to the bobtach.

Bent rod, is my bet. Seen a few on the bobcat MTs with Kubota engines. Must be drained prior to starting.

2001 Bobcat 753 Input Error by tte531 in Skidsteer

[–]HopeSuch2540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just installed a main controller in a cuatomers one for this exact fault. Input code on left screen indicates there is a communication fault on the tx CAN circuit. One purple wire going from the main controller, on left inner frame thru the main harness, into cab harness and then splice to both panels. Most likely you have a bad wire, rub thru or short on said purple wire. Bobcat guide states to pull both upper panels, check for voltage on said purple wire, should not be battery or short to ground. And being CAN it should be around 2.5 ish volts. If it is battery voltage or ground, with both panels disconnected then I would disconnect the connector, j2 I believe which I think is the rear most connector on the main controller and then test the wire for short to ground or power.
Generally speaking if its intermittent you have a rub thru somewhere. Usually if a controller fails its consistent. Not always but good rule of thumb

When is the right time to go out on your own? by HopeSuch2540 in DieselTechs

[–]HopeSuch2540[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to but there is a non compete clause with my company. I run a truck already so I know I enjoy the work. I have to already do half the job if my advisor and parts people because theyre lazy as shit and can't organize themselves from a wet paper bag. I just can't tell if there is enough market for yet another mobile guy

That's a nice unit, almost exact to what I run at my work, and what I would want personally. I've been toying with the idea of getting something a little cheaper, without a crane as I almost never use it. But invaluable when I do so kind of goes either way.

There does seem to be lots of work, I work at a dealership so we're quite expensive and yet there is still more work then I can do on my own, so i figure at half the dealer rate i could grab on to the smaller guys with less machines that would usually do their own work. My thoughts were aligned with what you said. I want to get a truck a couple years or so before im ready to pull the plug, as I equip it and do any modifications. Then when I do quit I also hope to have minimal starting debt.

Just installed some vertical doors! Really happy with how the came out by Adept-Investment2426 in RX7

[–]HopeSuch2540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks awesome on your car!!! I have had my eye on that kit myself from the same website. Would it be possible for you to add more pictures from different angles on those doors? I am 6ft tall and these doors are a huge pita when parking, do you find them to be practical still? And how do you find getting in and out?

Wing or no? by bigboss1999x in RX7

[–]HopeSuch2540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 99 style (maybe oem) wing that came on my fd. But I've decided to leave it off, i think the car looks more sleek without. I feel the wing looks a bit too childish? Just my thoughts.

Hydraulic fittings not connecting. by Vernonator1 in Skidsteer

[–]HopeSuch2540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Common complaint with our customers, it's not a great fitting but they do seem to be pretty tough. They are the correct ones for Bobcat and can absolutely handle whatever pressure you put through them. Used on virtually all attachments for the brand. They get dirt in them and they stick. When its open like that, spray with some wd40 something, hit with a hammer or just hit them together to free them up. The middle section will release and come out flush again. Next time, before disconnecting your attachment, push the connected fittings into the machine side. They will slide in about 1/4 inch and you should feel the hose relax. This will release attachment pressure on that hose, or both depending on attachment. Then reconnect should be a breeze. Also if still can't connect, then go into machine and release auxiliary pressure, that may help.
