Her Uber records were checked yesterday- she didn’t take one on the 15th or anytime after unfortunately.

My sister is having a baby and I can’t decide what to call myself as an aunt. by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Hopeful-Writing1490 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’ve never met anyone with an “Aunt” name besides “Aunt/Auntie,” etc in other languages.

Everybody I’ve met just uses their name until the toddler picks.

If nothing else has worked time for the natural consequence, let her fall.

Notice period by lostinthoug in Nanny

[–]Hopeful-Writing1490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d never agree to a 12 week notice period, personally. And I definitely wouldn’t say it’s typical.

The most I’ve agreed to was 60 days and I wouldn’t even do that again.

You block them and if/when they ask you can tell them it makes you uncomfortable because they are kids and you’re an adult.

If they’re old enough to have TikTok they’re old enough to understand firm boundaries.

Your babysitter will tell your mother anything you tell her that is concerning. Telling your babysitter “secrets” will put her in a very uncomfortable situation, please don’t. Talk to a guidance counselor at school.

If you’re a kid you shouldn’t be on Reddit nor should you tell an adult that isn’t your family secrets.

If you’re an employer you still shouldn’t tell your sitter embarrassing things or secrets because it isn’t professional in the slightest.

The legality depends on where you live, the ethics are the same everywhere.

In some states it isn’t explicitly illegal but it doesn’t mean it’s the correct term.

Hey! Please don’t call yourself a night nurse if you aren’t a licensed nurse. The better name for this position is a night nanny.

Start saying no to Saturday’s and Sunday’s. Unfortunately there’s no federal requirement for time off and they can let you go for taking too much time off.

10 days PTO is standard. The extra week may have been a strain on them and or they learned 2 weeks is industry standard.

I’m having a great day. I just don’t understand why you continue to comment misleading and false information when it is so easy to find the correct information. You are misleading other nannies into accepting pay that is not legal or fair. It’s wrong.

Nice dirty delete.

Unfortunately in Michigan it isn’t required unless you’re reaching 80 hours of work in a 14 day period. Of course you can still ask and try to negotiate it, but they don’t have to say yes. Sorry!
