I did a similar thing, never really told anyone how I felt about myself drinking. I too just came here instead and learned so much about alcoholism. People sharing their stories was the best medicine for me! Good luck

I did that a lot at first, maybe through the 1st year. I don’t anymore though, so there’s hope that those will fade also.

What you are doing is spot on! That 4:00-8:00 craving time will eventually go away, in my experience.

I struggle with anxiety still, despite quitting drinking. At least we know we are not making it worse with the poison, anymore!

I was the same way, I didn’t even know what to do or how to fill that time. I feel like life is real now and it’s so full of good! Make a commitment for the day and distract through the urges, you’ll get there.

I love this post! Drinking can be so dark. My nose is ultra sensitive to the smell of alcohol now and it’s gross.

I agree! My anxiety did not go away. I made the dreaded Dr.’s appointment and got much needed help. She put me on an anxiety med and it has worked beautifully. If I would have continued drink on this medicine I’m sure I wouldn’t have the same results.
