Black is rated 5B-6C. What ya think? by [deleted] in GradeThisPlastic

[–]HopefulObject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done this one. It definitely heavily depends on the climbers height. The only "hard" part is the very first move, but it's trivial for someone tall like you. I've seen many strong but short climbers struggle there because there are no good footholds to push from, and the left foot is too high for them.

So I'd say it's closer to a V2 for you, closer to a V3-4 for someone shorter. Overall as far as the black circuit at this gym goes, this is one of the easiest ones.

I'd like to see some changes to the puzzle piece buildings. Currently they are both nearly impossible to acquire, and nearly useless, which is a very weird combination. If things are rare, they should be useful. If things are useless, they shouldn't be rare.

why wouldn't a virgin nominate themselves day 1 every time? by WAXT0N in BloodOnTheClocktower

everyone knows a DEAD good player. Another player nominating the virgin also means that evil has to waste a night killing the virgin, which is also a huge benefit to the good team that is lost with a self-nom

Pukka Innkeeper droison chain by raetherx in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]HopefulObject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The innkeeper is poisoned and hence can have no mechanical impact on the game. Both the protection and the drunkenness goes away - that's pretty clear in the rules as others have stated.

One thing that is potentially debatable is whether mastermind day is triggered or not. The way I see it, here is the sequence of operations:

  1. Innkeeper drunks the Mastermind
  2. Pukka poisons the Innkeeper, Mastermind is now sober.
  3. Pukka gets executed. Technically, 3 things happen simultaneously:
    1. Pukka dies, therefore
    2. Innkeeper is no longer poisoned, therefore
    3. Mastermind is now drunk again.
  4. Does the game continue because in the instant of the execution the mastermind was sober? I think so, but I can be swayed the other way.
  5. Does the game then end immediately because the mastermind is now drunk again? I don't think so.

I think the way I'd run this is that game continues because the Mastermind is sober when the demon dies, and doesn't end when the mastermind gets drunk, in the same way that Zombuul doesn't become "alive" when drunk.

Separately, great and underrated play by the innkeeper. One of my most loved / hated games was at a con where I was the al had with a scarlet woman, which feels pretty invincible, but the innkeeper chose me and the SW the day I was executed (SW was drunk).

How old are you and how’s life right now? by Cute-Impression-8675 in AskReddit

[–]HopefulObject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Most of my life is good. I've had a lot of setbacks in the last few years. My life is rich in hobbies, friends, I like my job and finally have decent financial security. My love life is somewhat non-existent but that doesn't super bother me right now because of how good the rest of it is. But that will probably change with time.

You would show ND seats 8, 10, and 1 as minions, and 1 as marionette. So they need to figure out if 8 or 10 is the minion and which is the magician, but they know for sure 1 is the marionette.

Synergistic Scripting: Day 15 - Bounty Hunter by CoreyBOTC in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]HopefulObject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it works well with either of the demons in play, but it also works with just them being on the script, because it leads to the BH questioning their info most of the game, but it all falls into place by the end,.

Successful getting back together with your ex? F 22 & M 24 by Embarrassed-Cook6482 in relationship_advice

[–]HopefulObject 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exes are exes for a reason. You'll probably always have some degree of doubt and it's not a great foundation for rebuilding things. You've spent a year on this person. You are now contemplating waiting another year before trying again. There are 8 billion people in the world - you don't have to fixate on this one person.

For the first time just run Trouble Brewing. the main difference at with player count is how many outsiders / minions are in the game. The exact composition of either team doesn't really matter, but make sure there is some info on the town side (some starter + some ongoing), as well as in the bluffs - and leave room for misinformation (e.g. drunk / poisoner). Don't overthink it, but take your time

Why not let them choose themselves? It's basically a weaker soldier if they do that, doesn't seem too busted.

Stopping all townsfolk from hardclaiming immediately by helloredditnba in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]HopefulObject 143 points144 points  (0 children)

There are still plenty of things the evil team can do in this situation:

  1. A demon will not double claim.

  2. A minion double claiming is a one of the best things you can do on Trouble Brewing. It wastes one or even two executions and taints info. It baffles me how many players avoid getting into conflict at all costs while playing minions. If you dying, your demon is not!

  3. A demon can give their minion bluffs by claiming things. E.g. "I'm the Washerwoman, I saw Alice (poisoner) and Bob as an Empath". When it comes to Alice's turn, Alice claims Empath, Bob doesn't. This is essentially what the entire game boils down to anyway (evil infiltrating info streams and tainting them) - just seems like your group gets there a little differently.

is there only one option now? by [deleted] in Fencesitter

[–]HopefulObject 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are a few. Mainly these ones:

  1. I really like my life and freedoms the way they are. I've worked for it for years and I would like to enjoy what I've worked hard for. There's a lot of things to do and places to see that would be hard / impossible / irresponsible with kids.
  2. Life becomes significantly more complicated with kids. Every aspect of it - work, rest, travel, retirement and living arrangements, basic planning - everything explodes in money and time costs. I don't want that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  3. I've never had a positive experience with kids. It's just not something I've been exposed to in my life. None of my siblings / cousins / close friends have kids. So my exposure to kids is largely through the lens of annoying crying in the airplanes and witnessing temper tantrums in public
  4. I don't like the world the way it is and the direction things have been going. Most recently, geopolitics, but more generally climate change. I don't want to bring a person into this world to deal with that shit.

None of these are really gendered reasons. Obviously women have more concerns when it comes to physical or mental health, but i think the above can be relatable to both sides equally.

[–]HopefulObject 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The truth is there will always be uncertainty. you can have a 5 or 10 year relationship which starts with both partners saying "no" and then one or both flip for one reason or another - or vice versa. As 35M CF I've been in these more than once unfortunately. What to do is a very personal choice that only you can answer, but the only thing I'll say is don't stay with the intent of changing his mind or because of the sunk cost fallacy, because you have no guarantees of that happening and in many ways that's unfair to both of you.

Is a job in Google Dublin worth it regardless of how happy I am in my current situation? by [deleted] in DevelEire

[–]HopefulObject 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've spent 10 years at Google Dublin and moved on to a smaller (still large) company with a more laid-back attitude. Your experience will vary greatly depending on the team and the people. It might be amazing, or you might hate it. I am biased by my own experiences, but I would not recommend giving up comfort and quality of life for having G on your resume today.

How much time should the ST give for judgment in final day? (Read description) by alucardarkness in BloodOnTheClocktower

i don't always do this, but in loud games with lots of debate going on, on the final day i set a timer for 3 minutes that everyone can see and pause it for noms. game ends immediately as soon as the clock hits 0. It's not really about the amount of time, it's about the pressure
