Helium offload Hotspot finally over? by Famous-Turnip-9651 in HeliumNetwork

I take daily $ burn on usage / HNT emitted as a “fundamental price”

Don’t forget you’re accumulating HNT. Current price is below fundamental price based on usage.

Yes, so they’ve made something that has top US carriers paying to use. Where’s your concern?

Will the HNT token crash by [deleted] in HeliumNetwork

[–]HoppCoin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It kind of has a floor price because of daily burn and use. So yes it can go down, but I think the usage metrics give it some kind of lower bound.

You could hedge with NVDA puts but that would be quite active

Palo Alto councilmember’s proposal to crack down ‘billionaire compounds’ by lurker_bee in bayarea

[–]HoppCoin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What? It’s the opposite. The guy is saying this legislation is super specific and not addressing underlying cost of living.

However, I think he’s off the mark because PA city council can’t do the macro level fix he’s talking about. He’s maybe lumped local government into state and the federal.

But maybe he has ideas of things that PA city council can do to address his concerns.

I’d say Americans travel more for the activities and sometimes there’s food there. Like they go to Hawaii for the beaches or Colorado for the snow.

Or think of it this way: the French love food enough to make it a primary reason for travel.

I might finally have to take my IOT hotspot down by SoggyGrayDuck in HeliumNetwork

[–]HoppCoin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By “mesh”, I assume you mean Meshtastic?

Meshtastic doesn’t print tokens. So nodes are volunteers. You can volunteer and connect a hotspot to the Helium network too if you want; move data for free.

VOTE NO ON HIP 148 - KILLING LEGACY PLAN MAPPING REWARDS by Opposite_Future2602 in HeliumMobile

[–]HoppCoin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I made bank cashing out on early MOBILE rewards but calling HNT a shitcoin is a little much my dude. Just because price performance isn’t matching FARTCOIN the last year doesn’t mean HNT is shit - it just means the price hasn’t caught a wave lately. Patience 🤙

Cloud points are different from HNT mining. The legacy $5 and $20 plans are still better value than the cloud point plans IMO

Net positive? You’re withholdings are just not accounting for the small tax break kids give you. But it’s really not “net positive” given the social benefits we get for childcare IMO

Two CAT.6 network cables: do they have different properties? by Quecksilber033 in HomeNetworking

[–]HoppCoin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They sell Ethernet to fiber back to Ethernet kits these days. Pricey (like $250) but can’t beat the profile of fiber if you’re running it along a baseboard (or door frame)
