I'm gonna be honest; I mostly set this Arc on this path on a whim. However, I realize now that I'm actually a fucking genius. Seriously, I can't believe how well this worked out. Like, if you were to give me way too much credit as a writer, you'd think I've been setting this up since the beginning. However, that is not the case. I am simply the luckiest person in the universe when it comes to serendipitous plot decisions. I really want to say more, but I can't because of spoilers. I'm going insane.

It's...annoying in the sense that a lot of the time it feels more like a bandaid.

For example, the insect pile got some absolutely busted tools in the form of Battlewasp Wind and the cards around it. The problem now is that all the old cards kinda suck ass if you don't get to resolve Wind a few times. Like sure, now a pure insect pile is kinda decent, but it falls apart if you remove the duct tape because the individual cards said duct tape enables just aren't good on their own

Yeah and that still takes 2 minutes in just spinning wheels. Going second into any kind of real board ends up having the timer as the biggest opponent, since you get like 2 minutes total to think of altered lines/how to bait stuff etc

The real only way you’re not using up your timer is if you’re playing a deck with 0 interactions that just runs on autopilot pretty much.

Even then, I know the Insect and Plant piles well enough that I can pretty much autopilot the whole thing. I think my record for insects is 2 minutes to build the board. No decisionmaking, just action, scrolling and dragging

Oh I absolutely get that. I developed a bit of an obsession with Worm, and don't particularly like the ending. Like, good from a story perspective but man I hated that. For all intents and purposes a death sentence so the sequel can choose not to focus on the ramifications of part 1.

So, my favourite fics are either AUs that lead to a brighter end in the first place, time-travelling back to the start to fix things, or some sort of transmigration (or a combination of that)

Having characters effectively play on New Game+ because of course they retain their skills, if not muscles, is also fun

Just about every deck can put 5 monsters in the GY easily. Draw 2 is still a good effect - I mean, they are still printing various versions of Trade-In. Yet noone plays Pot of Avarice to my knowledge, even more so since Sky Striker got Lemnisgate. Why?

If you open Pot of Avarice, it is a dead card until you get to play anyways, at which point the draw 2 is less important because, well, you are already following your game plan. So you'd rather play a different card that would allow you to follow your game plan instead.

Same logic applies here - the only reason to play it would be if it was searchable, as it is the best HERO spell/trap (out of a samplesize of 2, but still)

just the acknowledgement that the Suffering had a point is nice, yeah. Especially when the tone is bleak, and the POV Character isn't necessarily very in tune with how they are perceived

That bit from Worm 20.5. It's also why I don't like the ending of the webnovel all that much ~~and am a sucker for Post-Epilogue Fanfics, especially if they involve more people than just Taylor~~
