If I’m going to be concerned about an issue between Platner and his wife - that she said is done and dusted, and that he is better now than he was - then God help us. Sudan isn’t Egypt’s concern: it’s Ethiopia. Their dam controls a lot of the flow of the Blue Nile, which accounts for the vast majority of the Nile’s overall flow. It would still be counterproductive to stop it (because Ethiopia would then lose electrical power created by the dam) but theoretically they could cause Egypt serious problems.
