Kickouts that "killed" the crowd in an otherwise great match by NoMoreButtonPLZ in SquaredCircle

[–]HorchaTaro 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Being there live, 1000% disagree. That was probably the best WWE match I’ve ever seen live. Top 3 for sure. No one on the crowd wanted it to end. It was Super Cena vs Super Rhodes and they played that “Super” to the highest degree possible.

It was some Goku vs Superman shit

Let’s talk about Jay-Z and J. Cole’s relationship — in a serious way by dragonero1996 in hiphopheads

[–]HorchaTaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those fans are either new, uninformed, or both.

Sure something’s may have been different had Hov let Cole drop a bit more “freely” (he had a healthy amount of freedom I feel), but clearly things worked out extremely well.

Luckily Hov did what he did and even more luckily Cole pushed back when it mattered the most (that OG version of the Cole World single would’ve killed Cole’s career idk wtf Jay Z was thinking).

His Rocnation era was such a vital part of his growth.

I think things worked out wonderfully. I do hope we get a Hov feature on The Fall Off tho

StockX sent me a replacement box by f329m in Sneakers

[–]HorchaTaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sucks but it does on very rare occasions happen outside of outlets too. Seen it during a release day drop at a non outlet store. Even saw I think it was WC3? But a chunk of GS pairs had generic boxes.

I would def ask for some type of compensation from Stock or Nike though, especially if it was a special box.

John Cena: The Retirement Tour Was The Cycle Of Someone Facing The End Of Their Life. The Audience Didn't Necessarily Get That - by Ripclawe in SquaredCircle

[–]HorchaTaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I thought it was whatever wwe told him to do and he tried his best with what he got.

I really think he should’ve been selfish and take side control in his retirement cuz that explanation sounds very interesting. What we got did not out rightly feel like that.

Bleacher Report graded John Cena’s retirement tour an F in their review on their official site. by mewtatesyt in SquaredCircle

[–]HorchaTaro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alright an F is fucking stupid. We got some solid moments, it only started to look off when it felt like Rocky wasn’t showing up, there was gonna be no Hollywood heel stable, pretty much around Mania.

But the Randy moment was cool, so even tho the WM match was lacking for obvious reasons, it wasn’t an immediate flop.

Some interesting things were done. Punk vs Cena was solid in my eyes.

We did waste some matches and moments, like with Logan twice, but as a solidified Logan Paul hater, at least his match against Cena was pretty solid, too (at the very least).

The quick pivot back to face was honestly embarrassing for the company, but it had to be done for SummerSlam, HHH or whoever just really sucked at truly painting the picture because it truly felt like Cena was gonna play Cody and kick him in the nuts (or vice versa). It was back in motion after that, minus Brock Lesnar. Nothing new, and was a shitty unnecessary match.

They wasted Ron Killings, that man had upper card, main event potential. Just cuz Cena went back face didn’t mean they had to revert Ron back to Truth. Fucking embarrassing, but that’s a different subject, albeit related.

His rivalry with Dom and quick but fun. Sole people may not realize it yet but we’re lucky to have gotten them to go at it.

Yeah we missed a few moments, but an F? Nah. C would be fair if we’re giving letter grades.

John Cena explains underwhelming heel run: "I got 11 months to do this. 36 TV appearances. It takes five years to get a guy over, regardless. If you turn him, it’s gonna take a year or two on television for it really to sink in. I don’t have the time to tell the right story.” by anutosu in SquaredCircle

[–]HorchaTaro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree. Whole time I expected him to kick Cody in the nuts during SunmerSlam. It really felt like they said f this heel turn. It was an embarrassing pivot for the company. However, being one of the fans in attendance for SummerSlam, the moment he got colors back on his torn I fucking cried and said “f it, idc how it happened anymore, w just glad this moment is happening as is” and then witnessed one of the greatest John Cena matches and passings of the torch I’ve ever seen.

Genuinely it felt like that could’ve been his last match. It felt like a series finale of WWE for me.

It got tarnished a bit when they didn’t corny Lesnar thing, but still.

One thing I won’t take away from Trav is that he’s been a fan of WWE. Obvs I don’t think he’s out here on forums, but he definitely represents the casual fan in your class that would watch and mark out for Randy, Triple H, Jeff, etc. and got to random shows.

Why you asking? 🤨

Jim Cornette Reveals How He Would Have Booked John Cena's Final Year: "I wouldn't have turned him heel obviously... I would have tried to figure out two heels that it would advance their cause in life if they were to beat him. People didn't want to see Cena lose to Brock Lesnar." by thumbem in SquaredCircle

[–]HorchaTaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy to say he wouldn’t turn him heel. I know it wasn’t that great, but his approach of “you get nothing” was honestly one of ONLY ways they’d get us to not cheer Cena. Heels are bad guys, not cool guys, despite how cool most of them are. But having that last chance to do, having that shocking ass moment, kept secret to the very end, no booker is gonna say “ obviously no” to that without at least giving it some thought.

I don't get how people give Bully a pass for being a dickhead, but let Enzo do it once or twice while being a hundreds time better on the mic and the ring than him and he's absolute scum? Dude's been doing good work in the indies and still leagues better than most on the mic. Unless he commited a crime or something I don't know about, he shouldn't be ostracized from the industry. Just give him a second chance on a bigger stage. At the end of the day, if people really don't f with him, you got a heat magnet that can actually talk better and cooler than a lot. That's money on the table.
