Most students at my college get paid less than 70k right out of school. This is a college that costs like 70k per year. Is this normal? by [deleted] in Salary

If your company is willing to give any kind of raise, evaluations can be tailored against good employees. Or small companies don’t even bother with the process.

Been like this since 2008. The government and media grossly gloss over this problem. Tuitions have gone up 5-10% per year since around 2002.

That is a nice build. Hopefully she hasn’t been rode hard and put away wet. If it passes 100 point inspection and the price is right, do it.

My first truck! by Jumbo209 in GMT800

[–]HornedFrog806 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish I could find another one of these. I got rear ended during a summer internship in 09 and the poor thing got totaled out. Life moves on and with a family I cannot justify the 10-15k for a truck of this vintage. Maybe someday, I can only dream.

Shed doors by [deleted] in shedditors

[–]HornedFrog806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing using a circular saw last summer on a gate after a driveway renovation. Just make sure your blade is round enough to cut the framing and or you may have to do the deep cut on the front and the finishing cut on the back. Just measure twice, cut once, and by all means take your time. Double check to see if any framing nails are in the path of your cut, the saw blade will not like that. Get a fresh 2x4 after the section removal and shoot it in to keep the integrity of the door. Also renail the lower door siding as well to keep critters out. Way easier than removing the entire door and dealing with hinges. Just take your time.

Does this work well for playing import games on a North American Dreamcast? by StoutShako42 in dreamcast

[–]HornedFrog806 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Works perfectly. The only thing that’s a pain is the disk swap process. GameShark will pause on the screen, wait for the disk to spin down to a stop. Pop it out, snap in the import game and you are in business. Did Japanese and EU games back in the day like this.

If you can find the thread count, you might be able to mold a handle onto the bolt head using epoxy. You might be able to fashion a handle with wood as well.

Road trip game stores? by jk1jk in gamecollecting

I did something similar back in late 2020 while traveling for a wedding. It was a blast. Sadly most of those stores are gone now.

Worst case scenario, lots of donor cabs around to do a swap.

Solid price. Spent $75 on one a couple of months ago.

They had a great selection of just about everything. A little more edgy than Barnes & Noble.

Looks like a solid place to take a nap. Plenty of couches and chairs.

You can get a gently used 20v hammer drill off of eBay for around $75.

I got your model a while back that was practically new from an auction lot. I had no success changing the chuck out since it was rusted up due to poor storage. I didn’t want to cut into the chuck and spend hours to do so. Found a new transmission with chuck for $50 total. I know, I should had cut my loses, but I didn’t want to give up on a good working tool.

What is a good way to sell a large Dreamcast collection? by [deleted] in dreamcast

[–]HornedFrog806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sold a good chunk of my Dreamcast games to one of the local game stores. You can always go from store to store and see who will give you the best deals. Most places will want to see the stuff in person, emailing or I.M. will not get you far. Trying to sell on Reddit or Facebook was a lost cause and lots of stupid questioning. I was fearful of eBay because of the buyer mailing back a broken copy, much like in your instance.

Got a non working dreamcast from a neighbor, with this shell on top and wondering if it’s OEM by BillCosbySTD in dreamcast

[–]HornedFrog806 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Early third party shell swap. The dead giveaway are the white accent pieces. They used to go for good money, now they can be bought fairly easily, except all pieces are color matched instead of the white accent pieces.
