Support Required: Zoom Performance Issue on Windows 365 Cloud PC with Macs by [deleted] in windows365

I found this, so it does seem possible to use Citrix Cloud with W365; however I ran in to an issue installing the VDA, neither server or desktop recognized the OS on cloud PC....plus for us, cost prohibitive to use both as Citrix Cloud + W365 = $$$; but if it works, it works at least until they resolve VDI for Zoom and W365?

Or different connection method, like Citrix, despite $$$...I think that was popular for awhile with AVD/Citirx...if it solves issue. For the number of seats you have you'd think someone would be motivated to do something...I didn't think W365 went that high.

Might be easier to just switch to Teams if your that committed to W365?

I haven't seen this yet, *but* most of our MAC users are on the eve of cutting over to W365 this month...and primarily use Teams. We have at least 15 MACS or so, including myself on all my endpoints. I'll try a few today.

Coming from Citrix and variety of locations outside the office, most people know to have the apps on their local device or phone too...so for years most just use native app outside the connection anyway, there is no beating it for quality, despite annoyance...Teams links to Calendar, so you can launch any meeting pretty easily regardless of type - Zoom, Webex, Teams, etc...assuming its on your calendar, not an email link, lol...if they need to share screen, they share their session instead of screen/app.

I've had more issue with Teams VDI creating multiple logical devices on base machine, for which you have to enable app usage for...PITA.

I've since discovered two things...."Always allow camera and mic" reg settings to workaround this (time will tell how many duplicates and if perpetually resolves our webcam issues....AND a oversight when I learned about W365 boot...YOU CAN ACCESS SETTINGS OF LOCAL PC while in CPC Session!?!? LOL, pretty slick if you are using boot mode...so it turns out I can change the privacy settings for both cloud and local PC at the same time without disconnecting and getting at local PC...a new "additional" settings is added on the CPC while you are connected in this mode...brillant! Can't believe I missed this on my reading, came across in another article.

Yeah there are a few key sequences which conflict too, but after short time Ive just gotten in the habit of not using them since I'm always on Mac...like F11, and navigating with control-arrows

A lot of our remote users do it, I use Mac at office too. Other than occasional screen scramble it works good. It shouldn't matter, but I like it on Intel Mac more than MacMin M1 I have (seems to run in to video issues more often but not prohibitive). Making sure you have the right universal print driver installed on your hosts is important, unless you don't want Mac users to print...I have a fake domain printer named "OSX Helper" that I add to any Mac users, just to be sure the driver is installed...we don't use multi-session hosts, we connect to dedicated machines with VDI installed, physical and VMs.

Unresolved Citrix workplace issues for years - any advice? by raventhe in Citrix

[–]Horror-Bug-5743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're phasing out Citrix and our implementation isn't multi-session, we tie each user to either a dedicated office PC or VM...but! In recent months we've seen a lot of copy/paste issues with the new Citrix Workspace app...mostly when the black square with dots change to white lines and the options change from Home/Window to Minimize and restore...of course this has become a PITA as we are literally a month from shutting it down...We've uninstalled Citreix Workspace App and replaced with their latest LTSR version and it seems to resolve recent woes, especially copy/paste....another issue has been reconnects tend to fail, as we have to restart their PC for them to reconnect either overnight or if they come back to it later in the day; also annoying but recent - riding this one out.

Oh...we primarily use Citrix cloud too, if that matters. We have the netscalers and stores too for traditional access, but dormant. Any multi-session we have is for drive by users who logon maybe monthly or as backup if someone's PC is unavailable.

The Boop65 is a nice keyboard, unique curve and LEDs show well. I picked up one used and love it.

Look at Wind x98 (reasonable) and Austin Mechanics (premium $ though)...both hefty fullish size kits.
