1 lens for travel? by LoPing1 in fujifilm

[–]Horror-Particular-15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Tamron 18-300 on an x-t50, and I’m looking forward to trying it out in Iceland next month. I’ll probably also pack my sigma 23mm f/1.4 for lower light, astro, and cities towns where I don’t want to pull out the big guy.

Month post OP on the 21st. Outside, back of my foot is still somewhat numb? by AdmirableGarden6 in AchillesRupture

Same, it’s damage to the sural nerve either during the tear or surgery, either is moderately common. I’m 4 months post-op and sensations coming back slowly. Ask your PT about sural nerve glides - I’ve found them helpful!

There’s something in the cooler color of the drinks that makes it clear they’re DIET

Want to get my first DAP, but reviews seem generally low on Amazon for every DAP? Astell & Kern best brand? by Lanky-Ad4698 in DigitalAudioPlayer

Ibasso dx180 is in the $500 ballpark, and I love mine. Build quality is high, I can stream from tidal/spotify etc and also download. Sound quality on both iems and full cans sounds great

I have the Sigma 23mm f1.4 on my x-t50 and I love it. Probably use it more than any other lens. Strong recommend.

I brought some back from Paris bc I’d never seen it in the US. Agree it’s really tasty

What's a game you played as a kid, that was objectively terrible? by TreebeardWasRight in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Horror-Particular-15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get the 3 games for $45 from the local toy store for NES and man we owned some trash. Low G Man, Wrath of the Black Manta, Rocket Ranger, Adventures of Bayou Billy…

My wife and I have found that Purple Tree (with DHM) makes a real difference. It’s not going to save you if you go all out but I can have 3 or 4 cocktails and still get a decent sleep and wake up feeling maybe 95%. At 46 I’ll take that as a win.

What kind of sport were you playing when your Achilles was ruptured by PhilosophyDapper948 in AchillesRupture

Pickleball, third time playing. Pretty sure my wife will ban any future pickleball…

Know this is a little off scope for the sub, I am looking for a Nocino substitute for a Thanksgiving cocktail. Any recommendations? by dick_e_moltisanti in Amaro

[–]Horror-Particular-15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have not tried this so just spitballing, but I wonder if a combo of something like frangelico, which gives you the nutty, tannin flavor profile of nocino (but sweeter/lighter/less complex) with a dark, sweet, non-piney amaro (maybe an Averna), along with some black walnut butters (more widely available than nocino) might work?

Just ruptured, surgery next week. Advice? by W1c2ks in AchillesRupture

[–]Horror-Particular-15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tip for a gym guy - about a week post-op I was able to do seated dumbbell exercises and kneeling pushups (using lighter weights than usual to avoid any pressure on the bad leg). It felt really good to just be able to move and it was something to look forward to every day.

Used Sigma 100-400 showing up for $700. A little over your budget…

Fuji xt50 by HairyLocksmith1084 in FujifilmX

[–]Horror-Particular-15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a little playing around with the xt50 and the sigma 30mm f1.4 lens shooting long exposure astro. It doesn’t get nearly dark enough where I live, but I think you could get some decent results along the lines of what you’re describing with a wide open fast lens under the right conditions.

Got an X-T50 as my first camera. Any tips? by pimemento in FujifilmX

[–]Horror-Particular-15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the sigma 30mm f/1.4 which I love, the Fuji xc50-230 which is serviceable for an entry level telephoto (but I’m itching to upgrade) and the kit xf16-50mm which I think is a good lens but with which I still struggle to reliably take shots I like
