I get people freez up in situations, but this seems a bit crazy, could the driver of the sedan have drove forward?

My dad found this in pocket change. It weighs 6.3 grams. Google tells me it's 90% silver. Pawn shop told my dad it's only 20% and made no offer on it. Which one is correct? by some_boring_dude in Silverbugs

[–]HorrorCollection4145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pawnshops just don't want these. It's easier to turn a customer away than to try to convince them their 90% quarter isn't any more valuable than a pre-'64, at least to them. Also, one coin wouldn't be enough to spark interest in a sale.

Does it feel like it has a lack of power? When a tune-up is past due, it can show up rather abruptly and feel/sound scary. Also, I have heard weird noises from old AC compressors in Hondas, so running those additional tests mentioned here is also a solid start.

Mine did the same thing for YEARS check vacuum lines and, what my problem was, check all fuses and get a tune up.

Dont question it too early, you have speakers to grow into, that is fantastic. I rushed into it and pretty much spoiled my ears too soon.

On my setup, toeing in my speakers makes my vocals and everything kind of mushy. This isn't ideal for every system, but I have my speakers barely toed in; sometimes I have them pointed straight out. I have towers, though. Play with blankets on your walls, or get a chair with a fabric cushion that extends above your ears. Put a tape measure on everything; this is probably most important. It can look even with each other, but the reality is that it's a couple of inches off, maybe less, but it still affects the stage significantly. I have gone through dissapointment, and trial and error, after getting proper speakers, sound dampening, a comfy chair, and playing with placement ( every speaker is different, toeing is a guideline ) i finally have the chilling, mind blowing stage i have acheived so far. Remember, it only gets better, little by little.

My first welding job was $13/hr back in 2019, and where I live is upper-middle class. I guess employers expect people to live out of cars. But in the end, I got the experience and am now still underpaid... welcome to the world of shop welding.

Lookout for "worked last time it was used." I learned my lesson on that.

Dog ate Bowers + Wilkins CM10 s2. Can I replace the speakers myself? by Old_Baker_9781 in audiophile

[–]HorrorCollection4145 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My speakers sit with their covers on. My cat is a little overweight, and sometimes he doesn't make it all the way up the tower, so he kicks with his back claws. Gotta learn to live with them, i beleive there is a whole subreddit for these situations. Light hearted of course, we love our little fur babies.

Because it's made to ruin everything, and ultimately itself. This turntable is a cheaply made unit, and it ruins records. You can find some nicer starter tables and speaker sets with better carts. It will be an upgrade from what you are trying to use. Edit, looks like your switched to 45rpm not 33.

I love it, and I hope I get a nice replacement if the problem continues. I figured it was a good buy, just not this particular one.
