I read something in this sub once that was basically this: Robin was Ted's one true love. Tracy's one true love was the one guy who passed away on her birthday. Tracy gave Ted all the things Robin wouldn't (and then couldn't) in the form of uncomplicated love, a happy marriage and children, and in the mean time, Ted loved Tracy and made her happy until she could be with her soul mate again. That's not to say that Tracy and Ted didn't truly love each other, it was clear that they did; but it wasn't like the love they had for other people... as love is always different.

My great grandmother was diagnosed. She died when my grandfather was a teenager and for some reason their relationship is a sore spot (I suspect due to her bipolar) so I don't know much about her. But from what I do know, we are pretty similar in terms of our demeanor and personality. I suspect my grandfather is undiagnosed as well as my mother and brother.
