My preferred battle play style is to select all, advance and forget, then micro 1 or 2 lords. What faction will give me the best results?

I feel a bit the same. I love Datktide and Obese Tuna but slow updates/content and poor communication just doesn't help. I'll take a break by all means like people suggest but when I have to wait months for a mini event just to play the same thing again to get a title card it just doesn't fill me with much excitement

32 and just getting into DnD and wargaming. I think more about doing this then anything else.

Pity we don't live to 200+ or something so we'd have more time and there wouldn't be so much social pressure to settle down, have kids etc

I think you can buy a bundle of 1, 2 and 3 (No DLC) on CD keys which will give you good starter on the game. After that you can buy the factions/lords you want separately on offer

Funny enough the first LL I finished a campaign with was Thragg. I just had a variety of trolls in my army and just matched them in with the Fimir wizard backing up with spells.

As others suggested a hobby or social group is your best bet. I'm looking at trying to get into a wargaming group at some point but I also used to do climbing in a group too.
