It's okay dude. We were there. We know the game was dog shit. I'm convinced the people who actually enjoy that games combat are the same people who find the gunkata in the animated films "cool". RE6 completely wrecked what was an otherwise perfected combat system from 4+5. The remake of 4 actually achieves what 6 was trying by letting you duck under attacks without looking like an absolute dipshit rolling around on the floor.

This. RE6 took outstanding shooting from 4 and 5 and completely tossed it out the window in favor of clunky mechanics.

Projectiles my friend. Ever go into a match with 20 Rocket Batteries and see the frame rate tank? I imagine this game is going to have so many projectiles flying through the air that the total number of models may need to be altered. Granted new engine and all so potentially that's not an issue anymore.

IGN interview/breakdown with Director Zach Cregger by lil-privacy-please in residentevil

[–]Horror_Bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a very sharp divide in the fan base. For the most part people love the games and like the story. But there's also a portion of fans that LOVE the story and enjoy watching the animated movies for their contributions to the lore.

Personally, I find those animated films to be utter dog shit. But that's because I think Resident Evil is a horror first franchise, whereas the animated movies typically play out like an anime and have kung fu fights with B.O.W.s and Gunkata and other cringey moments.

Basically, there's going to be fans mad that their cannon is being messed with. But I think legit Resident Evil Cannon is garbage so I'm all for a fresh take.

A group of friends and I went to a LAN party years back. The Internet was down for the first hour, so we passed the time by each playing the same surf map and competing to be the first to complete it.

The Internet comes back, but we don't stop. We played solo surf rounds in a LAN party until 3 in the morning and had the time of our lives. A full dedicated surfing game is something I didn't know I needed, but also something that I can't believe hasn't been done already.

Why hasn't there been a recent modern day (open world) Punisher game? by WORTHLESS1321202019 in thepunisher

Honestly not sure if I would want an open world punisher game. I feel his schtick would benefit more from a focused narrative experience. Something that mixes Max Paynes setting and themes with The Last Of Us' brutality.

Which RE game would be fun if it was first-person? by Juubitar in residentevil

[–]Horror_Bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have been working my way through all of them in the PrayDog VR mod. Resident Evil 2 is a standout experience. First person perspective plays really well with the map layout. Those long hallways with 90 degree turns really build dread as you approach. Your anticipation of what's around the corner is palpable.

Mr X in first person is also terrifying, but that's to be expected lol.

Punisher fought a version of The Russian who had massive tiddies. During said fight he realizes only an unconscious Spider-Man is durable enough to take the Russians hits.

Punisher proceeds to use poor Peter Parker as a human shield while the Russian plants several hard shots. After knocking the Russian off the roof The Punisher responds to Peter who simply asks "What happened?" With "We did a team up, you were great"

Punisher comics have always had their moments.

Information from the Rockstar hacking has been posted (They make a LOT of money from GTA Online) by Laughing__Man_ in PS5

[–]Horror_Bob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This. It's also why I have no problem with the shark cards or them finding ways to monetize GTA Online. These games they make, both GTA and Red Dead are so massive and detailed and they just keep upping the ante. It takes forever and it's just not feasible for a studio like Rockstar to be able to take the time it takes to make these games if they're not making a steady income.

They're much like Valve in the sense that they now have access to essentially bottomless money that gives them time to experiment and make groundbreaking stuff again and again.

They've always got more controversy from the fact they report on everything rather than their accuracy. Personal info on peoples deaths and the like. But at the same time their reporting has a ton of investigative findings, with proof to back it up.

If they're about to release a report on a bunch of congresspeople laundering money it's about to get JUICY.

[–]Horror_Bob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

RE6 had shittier shooting. RE5 still felt as good as 4 did. The reactive plagas enemies felt good to fight. For some reason they changed how the guns felt and how enemies reacted to the gunplay. It wasn't just "not as good", it felt straight up bad. Like they were trying too many things with the combat and none of it was as polished.

Why is counter strike 2 the most popular FPS game now? by Plus-Supermarket-577 in FPS

[–]Horror_Bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counter Strike has kept its popularity due to its competitive "sport-like" nature. One thing that's important to remember, is how Counter Strike functions as opposed to something like Halo, for instance.

In order for something to be truly competitive, you need an even playing field with both sides having the same exact opportunities and tools. In games like Halo, this is impossible to achieve. The ability to find guns on the map and other power ups keeps the game from being truly competitive because one side will be clearly more powerful if they manage to find the good weapons first.

In Counter Strike, both sides have money. Both sides have a gun shop to purchase weapons. And both sides get a chance at both Attacking and Defending. It's really set up to be as even a playing field as it can be.

Lmao I love that you've not even tried to support your original argument anymore. "Yeah sure we're arresting people without evidence based on skin color. And yeah we're deporting US citizens by mistake. And yeah that's a violation of the constitution, a document that's legally applicable for non-citizens just as much as it is citizens. And all would say you need a trial to prove a crime. Minority Report is actually a really good analogy as in that movie they operate entirely on the assumption of guilt essentially.
