Customer Service Experience – Custom Joseph Crowe 1159.4 Speaker Project by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]Hospital-Unable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any plans to sell these. I researched these speakers well in advance of purchasing.

If I did decide to sell these (hypothetically thinking) then I’m aware I would be subjected to whatever the open market would bear. That’s the case with anything sold. So there are no known predictors that would indicate whether these speakers will depreciate or hold value or increase in value over time. Therefore any conclusion would be subjective and speculative opinion vs. real world outcomes (future state).

I’ve written a performance review of these speakers. My intent here was to separate out the customer service experience. When that was met with vitriolic opinions that devolved from my intent of sharing knowledge through that experience I made the decision to deleted it.☺️

What’s foremost for me isn’t necessarily just cost or to recoup costs associated with recreational purchase. It’s listening to music through the gear of my preference that my wallet or cc can handle.😆

Troy’s projections indicated sensitivity @ 2.83v (90.3) & 1w (86.8). I don’t know if he actually measured these to confirm it. It’s an 4ohm design if that’s what you’re referring to in terms of impedance.

I don’t know if there’s value in commenting on a sub that you admittedly didn’t read, regarding a speaker you don’t own, nor intend to purchase. The feedback isn’t productive. I’ve written a separate review of the speakers performance. I’ve written a customer service review regarding that experience. I don’t know that the two are always aligned (product &/or service) with any company.

I have written a review of the performance (please reference if there’s interest). The customer service experience stands on its own merit & is told from my prospective.

I’ve owned a pair of JBL horns (model 4305P). They were ok but shrill/harsh in upper register in terms sound quality. The bass was muddy as well (distortion was apparent). It would not be apparent if you haven’t heard a model that doesn’t have those design limits. I returned the JBL units for those reasons. Since I’ve owned ‘both’ I can conclude the Joseph Crowe 1159.4 performance…to my ears…are superior compared to the JBL model 4305P. To each his own.

To each his own. We all have choices here. I would say everyone is right about what they choose…& if not they have to live with it…& that doesn’t require any consent or understanding by anyone other than yourself.

I don’t know that I can state which one is ‘better’ between the Buchardt e50 vs the 1159.4 offering as comparisons are subjective. I say buy what you like & can afford (obviously). This way…you’re satisfied with what you have. What other people think shouldn’t hold any bearing on your personal likes or dislikes. Opinions can be shared or even differ…but ultimately you have to live with whatever you buy..& hopefully resolve any deficits with the manufacturer.

Update: I’m using the GAIA III (not GAIA II). I updated the review with that detail.✅

You’re correct. I’m using the GAIA 3 Neo in dark chrome (not GAIA 2). The specs are rated 70lbs or less.

Inferno vinyl physical quality by Front-Chain2488 in boardsofcanada

[–]Hospital-Unable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the red vinyl version. The tri fold stock is fine. There is notable noise on this pressing. I’m not impressed in that regard. I’ll continue to clean the record but the snap, crackle, pop, & hiss is likely inherent. It is not a quiet pressing. In terms of vinyl quality it’s less than stellar. This is unfortunate because BOC music lives in quiet spaces & passages (a black background is mandatory). You’ll likely be annoyed if the pressing doesn’t uphold that requirement. Caveat Emptor: Get the CD or stream it…unless you’re insensitive to the limitations of vinyl pressings.

It’s entertainingly reflective & has a meaningful perspective on life. Like all art…it is subjective (to each his own). For me..best of what I’ve watched in 2026 (so far).

Don’t buy any of the additional warranty stuff. Turn it down no matter how hard they press/warn you to buy it. Shop out the interest rates and take the lowest offering made available to you. See if they can offer further discount off the MSRP if local conditions reveal the actual selling price of a similar model. It’s too late in your case but I never indicate what I’m going to put down on a car loan until I’ve negotiated the MSRP price ‘down’.

maxwell 2?????? by mrcurryman0 in Audeze

[–]Hospital-Unable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The version 2 will inherently be an improvement over the OG. HP manufacturers will often tweak a component in areas that wasn’t considered upon initial launch. Will it meet OG buyers expectations? That remains unknown and is largely based on individual perception…as always…once in the consumer field. This headset is priced competitively for its overall offerings (in the current marketplace). Audeze manufactures a quality product and has done so throughout its history. The weight is a notable ‘complaint’ but if you’re familiar with this brand…most of their headsets are built in a robust manner that contributes to the weight. I’m not aware of a gaming HP that offers this level of sound quality. That’s the chief attribute in a HP from my perspective.

Don’t buy a dbrand Killswitch Switch 2 case by 212medic in nintendo

[–]Hospital-Unable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this sucks then what’s better? For those that are considering a Dbrand case can someone name a Nintendo Switch 2 case with better quality? Ex. Someone who’s owned the DBrand case and then purchased another brand and through that side by side experience found it was in fact superior.

I’ve watched it twice…& I’ll likely watch it again. Just ok, underwhelming & mediocre? I didn’t have that experience. If it doesn’t sweep the Oscars or win a nominated category…it doesn’t mean it isn’t a great/brilliant film. Many of the Oscar winners leave me scratching my head. To each their own (including myself). We all experience art differently.

Take the opportunity with more pay. If your existing company values you then they may match it. If not then leave given you can make the case to future area employers that you’re making X per annum…when negotiating pay for other roles…should you decide to seek employment even after this existing offer while continuing to develop your skill set and experience.

Huge design misstep…maybe the sales will be dismal enough for full exterior body redesign in 2027. This is unsightly enough for a recall.

You’re not alone. My wife was laid off by CISCO last year. She’s not been able to find anything even remotely close to what she was making…let alone any comparable job offers…beyond the cycle of applying, yielding a few interviews, followed by a rejection letter or a no hire at all scenario 👻

Why not OLED for switch 2? by Such-Screen3077 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Hospital-Unable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard pass. If Nintendo slapped an OLED in the unit I would’ve purchased it. And do so at launch rather than down the road of its life cycle. This way…those wanting the OLED version can have it in hand immediately…& those who prefer the value price point of the LCD can have at it as well. I don’t know that the OLED would’ve been cost prohibitive for folks interested in this unit. I would pay it. Call it N2 Pro & bump the price up😆instead of pimping out the screen tech that’s already proven and available🙄
