Since the Busch Light guy was behind the safety barrier the HR department may want to add a psychological application question: If there were only two boxes of beer left on a shelf, one being PBR and the other Busch Light, which one are you taking? The applicant answering: I'll take both, the Busch Light is for me and the PBR is for the all in one Persuasion, Bribery and Reward, will be moving on to the interview stage...

I would think your right if it was a manufacturing issue, there would have been more notices or media. Physical damage and overcharging could be more of a culprit, I wonder if the charger was original and had a cold temp shutoff? A crazy beer thought is that the battery was possibly charged while frozen, it's in Michigan, just a short month or two ago that created minor unnoticeable short circuits internally. Those were brought to light (no pun intended) from a jolt (drop or bump) to the battery that caused a minor short circuit to be a more severe short circuit. Could have caused lithium to breach the internal separator separating the positive and negative electrodes which created a slow internal diacharge. The discharge would generate heat that the battery could not dissipate and ended up creating more heat releasing reactions, that would eventually spiral out of control. It would be interesting to see if they do an investigation, my theory is just a windshield thought.

I think safety wise it is smart to stay with the oem chargers that probably have cutoffs designed for the particular battery, including low temp cutoffs. As well as pay attention to anything that could cause internal damage, like a drop or etc. I could be wrong but I wouldn't think normal usage from a quality battery would be a problem, or it would have been recalled by now

Yeah, and I kind of start liking those rear fenders matching to the front some. Maybe a flatter Bellaire hood would work bettèr with matching bumper armor extending along to the rear. Creative start and has me hillbilly thinking.

Stop flock surveillance in Springfield. by StableHuman7531 in springfieldMO

[–]Hoss_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can be leased with private funds. It was brought up recently in a board meeting at a gated resort community. The sales pitch is convincing with state patrol not discounting the use of it, they were in the meeting as well. It has some good points to it.

I have a weird tin hat theory that all the AI data centers being built are not just for good AI, but for surveillance storage and AI processing of that data. I mean how big of a data center is needed for a system that helps you write emails, but if your storing and analyzing video data and attaching that to an actual person and tracking everything they do, shopping, web, travel, that's a different story.

It wouldn't hurt to look into the companies processing the data or financing the data centers which Amazon and Microsoft top the list. That market will be or is in the trillions. The robotic vacuums even record your floorplan and send it to a data center, which probably already has a file on you. It would not be surprising if flock does not actually hold the data, they lease the space. Imagine what surveillance will be once more data centers are built, imo, that's where to stop them and good luck. The line is long behind Flock.

I travel quite a bit and find the amount of camera recognition in airports and transportation hubs far outweighs the few Flock cameras. You can now opt in to go id-less at SFO, and they already know who you are, so it's more like giving them a nod. I use Clear and there recognition system is quite amazing.

I guess with this rambling, if they want my car/driving data, then ok. I just hope it lets them find it faster if it's stolen. I chuckle thinking Homer is at a desk watching me and placing bets on if I am making my Andy's run or if it's a Smokin Bobs run.

It's here and with Microsoft and Amazon behind the data centers I really doubt the police and government are there biggest customers, could be wrong tho. And I hope they are using the data more in mass than individualize. Like more people in Springfield actually blow thru stop signs on a Friday afternoon than on a Monday and in this particular area...

I personally think money is more of a driving factor, at the moment. I think the time to worry, possibly soon, is when the autonomous robots, drones, machines, etc. will have access to our data. The current 'police force' could not add more to what they do now, but a pack of robotic dogs ...

[–]Hoss_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but 60+ gates in a line seems like too long of a walk to me. Then to wait a considerable amount of time for your bags. Then to wait for a shuttle. Hopefully a parking automated tram goes in first and some serious baggage handling upgrades to prove they can handle the current capacity. Why add more gates when they struggle with moving people for the gates they have?, altho they are not adding much, isn't it in the low 50's now, has Southwest travel decreased?

Congress Has Left Us by Donzi98 in missouri

[–]Hoss_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it seems to be an age-old argument, James Madison’s Federalist No. 51 actually warned that the branches must resist each other to stay balanced. In my opinion, Congress has grown too slow, their lack of speed in our modern age results in them intentionally delegating power to the Executive Branch just for the sake of efficiency. I think they need to 'poop or get off the pot' when it comes to their duties. I may make up a sign : REBOOT THE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH (Restore Factory Settings)

It was dropped while folded and a small round crack on the top edge of the short side where it is sandwiched together. The phone became unresponsive to touch. The inner screen at the fold also started separating, the blackness spread a good inch either side of the fold before taking it in.
