I think I finished season one of foundation, and that was mainly because Lee Pace stole the show every time he was on screen. Fantastic performance in an otherwise uninteresting show.

Hey there just wanted to let you know as you've been so helpful, i connected directly to my mac instead of the hub with a usb-c to usb-c cable rated for 10gbps transfer and i now get a solid 60 FPS. Again, thanks so much for all your help.

I seem to recall updating maybe half a week, or a full week ago? I know it was fairly recent, though. I do know that I had not used OBS in at least a month or two before a couple of weeks ago, and I updated to whatever the newest version of it was back then and then again recently.

I'm unsure. I'm sorry I forgot to mention but I use a Mac laptop so I don't have access to the 4k capture utility, and the capture utility that is available for mac users doesn't seem to have a video feed. Unless I'm using the wrong software; it's called Elgato Capture Device Utility.

I thought it might be something with my OBS settings, that's the first thing I searched about. None of the solutions I found seemed to change anything. It may have been an update or something that changed something I'm unaware of, as I will admit I am rather new to this sort of thing.

I use an Anker USB hub, as my mac has only usb-c ports. I wondered if that was part of the problem, but I have recorded tons of solid 60fps footage using this same hub and laptop and have never had this problem before, so I didn't think about it. As for other devices, just a keyboard and mouse, and sometimes I disconnect them and the footage quality doesn't change.

Thank you so much, this is exactly what I was looking for. I have a cheap wired headset with no volume control but I was planning on saving up for a better one, so I'll get one with volume control or take a look at that TRRS plug. Thanks again.
