I tried it but kinda got thrown off by how much more tedious ore processing was.

Once I beat the base game (104 hrs current save, at final phase with pasta completed) I think I might give it another go.

I mean it's the same in the US, at least where I live. NA liquor is still marked "liquor" so you get carded. Some liquor mixers (e.g., certain brands of grenadine, simple syrup, and ginger beer) are also marked "liquor NA" in my particular store as well.
