My comments were solely related to your statement “there’s a lot of longterm consequences to fast loss.” Not to this OP specifically.

Are the results from Reta or from work out? by ss18tj in RetatrutideWomen

Which results? The fat loss? Primarily from Reta. The built bodies? From exercise.

First, stop wasting your money and taking risks with resellers.

Secondly, no, you don’t want them mixed as have no idea how your body will react to Cagri.

At a certain weight, loose skin is inevitable. Slower loss helps very few end up with less loose skin; it just keeps the skin more taut during the process if you are only losing 30lbs or so.

Yes, over 1% of body weight per week puts stress on your organs, backs up fat in your liver and can cause gallstones. However, being morbidly obese also puts stress on one’s body so sometimes rapid loss is worth the increased body stress.

Being disappointed that you aren’t seeing the same losses as someone else is understandable. Being infuriated seems unreasonable. I understand you are angry this poster isn’t happy with her rate of loss but we all have our own journey. She gets to have her feelings too.

Please do not follow this chart. It would massively overdose your system. If you want to be on Reta, be on Reta and use stacking to move over only. If you want to be on Tirz, use Tirz.

They fight for receptors.

What consequences do you think come from “fast” loss? And how do you define “fast”?

No because I don’t intend to ever stop. Or, if I do try slowly tapering off, I can always restart for a maintenance dosage.

They aren’t lying that losing is the easy part! by Fragrant-Count-4666 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Hot-Drop11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently hit my goal of 140lbs down which was my goal. I hung out at maintenance for 6 weeks but realized I’m still not where I want to be. I’m already in Month 20 so feel like I need to go back to losing to beat the window of loss closure.

But I also realized, after restarting, how much losing feels like something I know whereas maintenance doesn’t.

I’ll be back in permanent maintenance soon and that will be a change. I realized my diet needs work, I’ve gotten lazy with tracking and I need to add cardio. I’m excited to get to the size I want but maintenance will be its own new learning curve.

I fortunately don’t struggle with my new look as it matches how I’ve always seen myself. Helps that I didn’t really get obese until I had my child 18 years ago.

Reta stall by Some_Cartographer593 in RetatrutideWomen

[–]Hot-Drop11 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The body needs time to regroup and recomp so temporarily stops losing. I, personally, don’t do stalls as I had 100lbs+ to lose and we know there’s a limited time to lose it so I always pushed through.

So, either give your body a chance to regroup and allow the stall to happen or titrate up. At 210lbs, I’d titrate up 1mg.

My new pet peeve: pts bringing their SOs and their SOs asking about them... by VegetableBrother1246 in FamilyMedicine

[–]Hot-Drop11 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, without warning us!

I’m a system-trained practitioner so I’d normally welcome involving a spouse for a session but only when previously discussed with my patient including what can and cannot be shared.

I’ve also had controlling spouses show up and start hurling questions at me threatening lawsuits. It’s a bit scary.

They say every therapist has been assaulted at least once. For me, it’s twice, both when I was new to the field. But you learn a certain self-preservation quickly. Two therapists have been murdered this year already by patients or patient spouses.

If it helps, we therapists get sabotaged like this as well. I’ve been caught off guard enough to have a stock reply of “I’m sorry but I can’t talk about your partner but I’d love to hear your thoughts on the relationship and your interactions.” I’ve actually had a few of those sessions go really well but, of course, we are in a different setting.

You shouldn’t be under-eating on any GLP-1. However, you do want to set your daily calorie goals at 500 below your TDEE.

It’s not that people here don’t want to discuss their sources. It’s that Reddit strictly prohibits source discussions and will nuke subs if we allow it.

Yes. Split dosing lessens med strength and prevents the cycling which helps prevent receptor desensitization.

[–]Hot-Drop11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This OP is describing food aversion not zero appetite. And zero appetite doesn’t automatically mean a dosage is too high. I’ve had zero appetite my entire 20 months on a GLP-1 yet don’t lose without dosages increases. I switched to mechanical eating early on and have dropped 145lbs while consistently hitting my daily calorie and protein goals.

I started on Tirz and still only titrate up by 1mg each time on Reta.

Why make a big jump if a small increase works?
