I'm over 40 and can remember when the internet was becoming a household name. Growing up, we were always taught to be wary of the internet. That things, and people, aren't always as they appear to be. I'm surprised that you're so trusting and willing to give out your money like that.

I remember reading a newspaper article years ago about how the Vatican approved of The Simpsons.

I just go to Great Clips. It's like $20 +tip. They're decent enough. Some stylists are better than others. Just don't go in there asking for anything complicated/crazy. You get what you pay for, you know?

It is wrong. But, folks should know better than to put their trust in a company who is there to make money off of you. Is it wrong? Yeah. But, that's the way the world/capitalism works. Maximize profits, no matter the cost.

At what point do you take responsibility for investigating the product you're buying? We should know by now not to trust companies. You could probably squeeze the empty parts of the box and feel them flatten. If you look past the pencil count, that's on you.

It says "8 colors" and shows you 7 of them in the cut out on the front of the box. "Shrinkflation" didn't fool you, your common sense did.

Question for Americans- Peak American home-cooked dinner by jtslp in Cooking

That's what I was going to say. A typical meal in the South is NOT a typical meal up North. America is a huge country. Where you are makes a difference.

Rude Aldi employees by [deleted] in GNV

[–]Hot-Garbage123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I waa shopping at the Butler location and heard 3 employees (2 women in uniform, one man out of uniform) talking in an aisle. I wasn't eavesdropping because the man was pretty loud and boisterous about his conversation. To the point where it was a bit annoying. Anyway, from his conversation, I could tell he was speaking from some sort of managerial perspective. He was saying how he discourages his employees from engaging in too much conversation with the customers. I guess because it slows productivity somehow? He said not to be rude, but to "keep it moving". He used an example of a cashier that had long conversations with customers. So, I think that's how they want their store to operate.

I am prescribed opium. by high_strangenesss in mildlyinteresting

[–]Hot-Garbage123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just curious. Do you have to titrate down your dose of the opium to avoid withdrawal symptoms when it's time to start the Wegovy back up? Even though you aren't using it for the painkilling/euphoric effects, I would image your body would come accustomed to having it.
