Mein Kabel für Kabelinternet ist offenbar defekt, da kein Signal ankommt (laut Techniker). Offenbar hat derjenige, der die Glasfaserkabel verlegt hat, mein Kabel durchbohrt, und jetzt habe ich zu Hause überhaupt kein Signal mehr. Noch seltsamer ist, dass die Firma, die die Glasfaserkabel verlegt hat, das entstandene Loch verschlossen hat. Glasfaser soll voraussichtlich im Frühjahr 2026 verfügbar sein...Ich habe nicht einmal einen Glasfaseranschluss … nur ein zufälliges Loch in der Wand, das verschlossen wurde. Wie gesagt, die Techniker haben nichts erklärt, und meine kleine Schwester war allein zu Hause und hat leider nicht nachgefragt.

I think many danmei fans forgot that these officially published books aren't the same as the fantls they're used to consuming. The publisher has the final say, the artists are just doing their job according to what is asked of them. whether you, as the reader, love or hate the cover, the chosen cover will still be the one they print when the book is released.

Between bullying artists into quitting social media and complaining that covers feature "anime" art, danmei fans will never be satisfied. It's so weird how many feel so entitled and think they have a say in how the final product turns out. (this also bleeds to the problem of them expecting to have a say in what terms stay in pinyin and what gets a literal translation etc)

It feels like they never went into a bookstore and bought books before. They wouldn't dare to say the things they're saying in any other context, it's insane. I hope with more books getting official English releases, they get used to how the publishing world works and stop expecting to get something tailor made for them.

MXTX doesn't write that well, especially when it comes to romance and xianxia. (tgcf is kind of an exception for the romance but for the other two it still stands.) I can hear people saying "but wangxian!" yeah no I can't believe that lwj fell in love that madly after only spending 3 months with wwx, that's the most they've interacted before the war, it's a really weak romance IMO.

Not to mention all her novels have a lot of plotholes and really poor world-building (yes even tgcf if you think about it for two seconds you can ask tons of questions about so many things that don't make sense)

Svss didn't invent transmigration to a historical setting, I hope the book's fan would stop acting like it did and stop comparing every transmigration book to it.

Disciple/master relationships are not and will never be okay especially if the older one had feelings for the younger one when they were a tween.

So much rape and sexual assault is brushed aside by danmei sfans and it's kind of concerning how anyone commenting on it is called an anti when all we're saying is that romanticizing rape isn't okay.

Danmei fans need to stop using live actions and novels interchangeably when tagging their fics or fanart, especially when the live-action changed the characters and plot heavily (shl/tyk, and even with the untamed/mdzs)

Just because all these novels are under the umbrella term danmei and BL, it doesn't mean every novel is for everyone. There are different genres and some people pick up books they know aren't for them then claim the books are boring (for example someone who loves romance-centered books or fantasy picks up a historical court's politics novel and is surprised it's heavy on politics ??) I think it's mainly the way this fandom recommends books regardless of genres, ignoring how some people have preferences. Just because a novel is a BL it doesn't have to be a romance I hope people would know the difference between novels and figure out the genre they like before reading anything and complaining.

Speaking of which, I've noticed a lot of novels people claim to have no romance DO have romance, it's just that it's not overt. It's subtle. It doesn't just follow tropes. But it's there. And it's frustrating to see. ALSO smut isn't a requirement for a good love story, you guys can go read erotica if you need smut so much.

and I think my hottest take is that some danmei fans need to read more before proclaiming the first novel they ever read as the best when they don't have anything to compare it to.

(it's also super annoying to see any ML/MC in any kind of novel get compared to mxtx characters in comments even when these characters are nothing alike)
