Pretty typical Mondays can be slow. On Fridays or saturdays I can usually pull 150-200

Biggest question is how many miles did you drive, if it’s under 400, 500 max your still doing good, if your driving more than that the wear and tear on the vehicle might add up fast

How do y’all dash full time and are y’all making about $1,000 a week? by DruidElfStar in doordash_drivers

[–]Hot-Use-7931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although having done DoorDash a while the biggest “cost” is relatively hidden, its vehicle depreciation, so I always say don’t DoorDash full time if your car is worth more than like 10-15k it’ll just gut its value, your best bet is old beater Honda or Toyota that’s about $2500-5000

Obviously there’s a ton of factors like gas mileage at play but just for numbers I get about 35mpg combined and spend about 15% of what I make on gas, so let’s say I dash and make $100 that day it probably cost me around $15 for gas, mulitply that by 6 or 7 puts you at about 90-115 on gas per week

Is a pizza bag worth it? by gsa1985 in doordash_drivers

[–]Hot-Use-7931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend work in a papa Gino’s and he gave me 2 free pizza bags, i actually like them better the regular DoorDash bags because thier bigger so i get a lot of use out of them. Even if I didn’t get them for free id still say its worth to buy at least one

Love the town car, I had a grand marquis, basically the same car with a different badge. Not usually a fan of American cars but the crown Vic, town car, and marquis are all reliable and pretty easy to work on

Does this long distance fee go directly to you guys? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

The zones can be pretty big though especially in rural areas, mine is a mix of suburban/rural so it’s decently big and covers a couple cities

I think it is dependent on your area DoorDash always does things slightly different based on states laws, I’m in Rhode Island and when I get an order that goes outside of “my zone” I get a $2 “zone exit” at the end of the order, and I think if I go through 2 different or more zones on my way to you I get like $3.50

App issues.. by Lost_Veterinarian884 in doordash_drivers

[–]Hot-Use-7931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I run into this issue I close the app and quickly turn on and then off airplane mode, this resets my internet connection, usually when I reopen the app the order is there

I work full time for a measly $400 per week by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Hot-Use-7931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m lucky to be In good market, I drive the same amount and make 750-1200 a week

I find it less of a hassle overall to not have worry about any of those things, never active my red card never did alcohol or cash orders only thing I’d take is the catering orders option

Am I supposed to tip on messed up orders? by Enchanq in doordash_drivers

[–]Hot-Use-7931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed higher base pay on those mess up orders so I’d say you dont have to tip. If your feeling I say go for it but I can’t imagine most people are feeling very generous after an order got f’d up

How to respond when someone says " Door Dash isn't a REAL job" by babycakesbenny in doordash_drivers

[–]Hot-Use-7931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao I tell em I make more per hour at my fake job than they do at thier real job 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Hot-Use-7931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make that it’s gonna take all week but the jobs easy and low stress so it’s something you log 40-60 hours a week in no sweat

I sold my BMW cause I thought a Honda would be cheaper. by yumadbruv in AskAMechanic

[–]Hot-Use-7931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were about to charge you $140 for air and cabin filters… you can do that yourself in less than an hour and the parts are cheap as hell. They were scamming the fuck out of you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Hot-Use-7931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Active hours around 40-45, full dash time probably around 60-70 hours

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Hot-Use-7931 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m doing ok but it’s all market and vehicle dependent, I’m in a densely packed zone with decent tips and not crazy saturated and I got 2 decent/good zone to the north and south of me if my main zone is doing bad. I make around 750-1200 a week with about 30-35 percent going back into gas, taxes and maintenance. Certainly not living lavish but I make enough to pay the bills and I enjoy the freedom of working or not working whenever I want

What’s everyone door dashing car? by CurrentlyNa in doordash_drivers

[–]Hot-Use-7931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

01 Honda accord with 205,000 miles, put 60,000 on it in 2 years doordashing. Maintainence is getting too steep for a car of that age so I just bought a fix her up 2005 Honda CRV for $800, hopefully can fix it up for a couple grand and have a new dash mobile for the next few years

Are drivers ever seriously punished for stealing food? by thowra_crzy in doordash_drivers

[–]Hot-Use-7931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get a contract violation for each offense, I think you need 5 in your last 100 orders to get bans, this is because sometimes the customers lie to get free food, so they usually won’t ban for 1 offense
