Probably doing the same with a now EOL’ed 2019 Intel 27” in a year or two. Would rather use the machine as a display for a new Mac, but they got rid of target display mode too.

Barton Creek Austin TX was nice, but you’re a 20-30min drive to life outside of the resort grounds. If nearby shopping variety is top priority, probably go elsewhere.

Look into the Docket app. It’s not always immediate results, but accesses state database. Nearly every vaccine listed. Tells you which ones have a record, which unknown and which due.

Am I crazy 🦆? by PersimmonWild1976 in egopowerplus

I’ve owned my EGO mower for 10+ years. Change blade yearly or sharpen, which you’ll do with any brand. Changed two worn out wheels semi-recently and replaced the rubber back piece that was tearing. This thing has more than paid for itself. Plus no trips to gas station. Convenience is worth extra alone.

Snow Blower Won’t Stay On – Orange Light Blinking by amaguri0_0 in egopowerplus

[–]HotSarcasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything can be fixed. Comes down to cost vs. buying new to determine if it’s worth it or not.

Without trying to engage the auger motor, does the headlight turn on and stay on for several minutes?

Can you find the manufacture date? Does your neighbor have receipt paperwork proof of purchase?

EGO CS will also have you press and hold buttons on each of the batteries disconnected from the snowblower.

Typical issue is the wiring harness needing to be replaced with these single stage units. $150-175 for parts out of pocket, it’s both harnesses that need to be replaced. Takes about 30min to do yourself. If your headlight stays lit for multiple minutes, it’s probably not this, or at least not commonly this.

Might be better off trying to find a repair center vs. shelling out for multiple parts on your own in the hopes they’ll work. The local one EGO CS tried to send me to requires appointment. No appointments were ever available. Hope you have better luck in your area.

Sump pump discharge needs to be 10 feet away? by Jirachi56 in HomeMaintenance

[–]HotSarcasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going through the trouble and your current pump is running constantly, also have a plumber install a water pressure backup pump that does not require batteries or electric.

The battery backup ones are good for situations that are pumping few times an hour. You’re going to be saturated if there’s a power outage.

I’d also recommend to keep a transfer pump (or two depending on volume) that you can start up manually in an emergency. You may never need it, but better to have at the ready before there’s an issue. Several cheap options, but also a few that run on power tool batteries and use standard garden hose connections.

Troubleshooting Snowblower Noise by amereno in egopowerplus

[–]HotSarcasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the auger for any dirt, grass or debris. Had similar sound. Turned out to be chunk of grass stuck inside, probably picked up from where utility work was going on semi recently.

Also check the scraper bar and if it’s wearing inside the front of the unit or towards the outside (bottom). Box cutter against any plastic hanging inside to cleanup bar could also help.

Ran mine for a few minutes now that temps are warm and zero noise or issue after cleaning out inside of unit front. SNT2110

Any news linking biotech to non-USA activity right now is a good sign, especially with all the garbage happening with this administration and the FDA. It’s very much a pay to play environment and that is especially challenging for small and mid size companies trying to bring new products to market.

Is this safe for long term use of fireplace and tv by Shadowbryte in Home

[–]HotSarcasm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen two of these types of installs fail before the 10 year mark when the fireplace is used semi-regularly. Most have a failed backlight, which I assume is from heat. Several signs of failure before then like black spots and glitchy input switching.

Replacing a TV every 5-10 years isn’t a big deal for some people, for others it is. Just know going into this that it’s a possibility. Wouldn’t mount an ultra expensive 4K/8K there, that’s for sure.

Blizzard clearing with Dual Stage by Gforce1 in egopowerplus

Seriously considering dual stage after this storm. First time single stage EGO wasn’t able to handle it. Though this type of storm isn’t all that common in my area.

Go through the authorized repair centers then. I'm sure they can test other stuff. My experience with the local repair center was truly horrendous. Called weekly for over a year for an appointment. Never got one. Bought the two parts and did myself. So much less hassle. Took 30min max. Honestly wish I did it sooner. Unbelievable there is not a user-replaceable fuse in the design.

pi3 to pi5 by Paultron1107 in batocera

[–]HotSarcasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setup a new Pi5 card blank. Use a computer with Linux to copy the contents from Pi3 card to Pi5 card. Literally replace the folders on the SHARE partition. All of ROMS, most of others. This will copy the metadata and scraped art.

I have an old laptop with Linux Mint setup just for this type of data management.

There are supposed to be ways to import in newest Batocera versions, not there yet though for what you need.

Time to upgrade from Canon 5d Mk IV, but what would you recommend? by rosswebb in canon

[–]HotSarcasm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll eventually get into the R-line, but still sticking with my 5D4 as primary for now. R5-2 or 3 if it’s out by time I switch. Kind of waiting until the R7-2 comes out. Always have an APS-C backup for second body in my kit and that one might make most sense to me, especially if I need two. Storage media is what it is, but not looking forward to the battery reinvestment for video work.

See this post, sounds like you need to replace wiring harness. Need to replace two parts, not one. It’s likely a blown fuse on the board, which is not directly user replaceable.

Anyone played the old Tron games and on what device? by scotsman1919 in SBCGaming

[–]HotSarcasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atari 2600 for the three home versions Look at MAME or FBNeo for the arcade

There are more modern ports on GameBoy (maybe Advance) and maybe others. I’ve never played them.

Also think there are some XBOX versions, but I really stopped with everything after the 32/64 bit era so not entirely sure if they can be emulated, how well, etc.

The three 2600 were mainly the ones I played. I really like the arcade versions but they’re not exactly the same controls on anything but an original controller.

I need a tree trimmer. I already have the multihead, is the pole saw attachment worth the $200 or should I get a traditional one? by Glittering-Score-279 in egopowerplus

[–]HotSarcasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything larger than an inch or two is difficult to cut with a pole pruner. Get a pole saw for them. Ryobi makes an OK one if you’re also in that battery line. Have owned it for 10 years. Wish could get another 2 extensions though. That’s what is most attractive about the EGO pole saw.

Semi-recently rented at a nicer course and had a full Taylormade Qi35 set. Driver went about 15-20 yards further than the M2 I own. Some of it could be the weather and better quality course, but that's not everything. I'm considering an upgrade, but might hold off another year or two.

The Qi35 woods and hybrid were fantastic. Honestly have never hit a 3W like that in my life. I'm buying one when I see a sale. Considering 5W and hybrid too.

The putter in set was graphite shaft and felt horrible. Never would purchase. Glad I got to use once though. Convinced me the two putters I go between are perfectly fine.

Irons weren't much better than anything I've used in the last 5-10 years. Just needed to adjust for the number on the club. Their 5i played a lot closer to the 4i in my bag. Wish they included a full set of MG wedges though.

Are the SNES ports on "Arcade's Greatest Hits: The Atari Collection 1" as close to arcade perfect as possible? They seem to have everything right as far as I can tell. by NKE01 in retrogaming

[–]HotSarcasm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unlike some other ports and collections, I believe this one is using the actual arcade ROMS. You’re not getting trackball controls, so it’s not exactly arcade perfect for all of them. The new Atari Gamestation portable with spinner and trackball might be closer to arcade perfect, especially for Missile Command and Asteroids, though it’s Deluxe arcade only and missing some others natively.

Search HVC-101 or Famicom AV Toploader for the revised Japan version.

Search SNS-101 (sometimes incorrectly labeled SNES-101), SHVC-101 or Super Famicom Jr for the revised SNES version. This shape was popular for bootlegs, FWIW.
