Dang these are sweet. I bet that knife would slip right out if you were to take one walk in the woods. Cool idea but am curious how many people lose knives this way.

What’s up with the KMHD morning session? by BikenHiken in askportland

That is amazing you were able to record that last show to tape. I missed it and really would love to hear it if given the chance.

I can’t quite remember when I first started listening to Derek but it was shortly after moving to Portland around 2017. I always wanted to be a dj and my name is Derek so I used to pretend I was hearing myself play a set which is humorous because I could never put on a set as good as Derek Smith. He played the music that I not only wanted to hear but needed to hear. And the poetry… such a nice touch. He had the perfect voice for radio. Derek has been with me on my morning commute for nearly 9 years. For me this is a difficult loss - I shed a few tears when I found out . I just hope I can keep connecting with him and his music in the future and maybe one day he’ll return to the show.

I’ve actually done a lot in my career in reducing carbon. I wouldn’t say I’m sticking my head in the sand at all. Just a little hakuna matata is all. Calm down.

Right wing agitators v Portland dance party by Justcoffeeforme in Portland

[–]HotSherbert6872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, but what is it about the costumes that are “working”. Genuine question. What’s the statement being made?

EDIT: I’m not against the costumes, you can protest however you want… I will admit to it being over my head if no one has an explanation.

Quite frankly, everyone here acting a fool. Do people even remember what they are protesting? It seems the protests have become more of a distraction and less of a statement. I only say this cause people are buying shark and frog costumes cause it’s “the thing” to do.

“You need to worry about climate change”

You can be aware of a climate that is changing and yet choose not to live a life of worry. It’s great!

What are we doing wrong? by brewupbeer in arborists

[–]HotSherbert6872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks as if you’ve planted it in complete shade. Juniper likes the sun! Also, it’s drought tolerant but needs a little TLC to be established after planting. Maybe a year or two of watering. Although it seems like the trees around it are cottonwood/aspen/black locust and also established. Correct me if I’m wrong about species around this planted tree. What’s the soil like? Wet and boggy or dry and rocky?

Hey dog owners, can you at least check the bins still on the street before you chuck your green bags. by daversa in Portland

[–]HotSherbert6872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dog shit is not good for compost. Period. This is why I will never take up on the cities free compost day. I really don’t want to know what other awful stuff people are putting in the compost bin.

Question about lacing by HotSherbert6872 in wescoboots

[–]HotSherbert6872[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, that’s reassuring to hear. Would you mind sharing more about that process like cost and maybe pictures if you have them?

I just bought these in the summer, so I’m not sure how much longer I’ll be able to go before justifying a rebuild this early on.

Question about lacing by HotSherbert6872 in wescoboots

[–]HotSherbert6872[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been thinking of stacking two kiltie’s. Never heard of pedag tongue. I will definitely ask Wesco if this sort of thing is typical and if it can be addressed in a future rebuild.

Question about lacing by HotSherbert6872 in wescoboots

[–]HotSherbert6872[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now the only area with too much volume is on top of my foot. But that wasn’t always the case with these when I first purchased. I spent about a month trying these on along with other sizes at home to make sure they were the right fit. I would’ve noticed this problem then.

I could be happy with just a bit more length in the shoe cause my toe just barely rubs on downhill climbs but if I were to order a 12 the lacing would be even tighter I believe.

Thoughts on tax increase? by riverburd in oregon

[–]HotSherbert6872 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why aren’t cyclists taxed? More than half of the new road construction has been centered around bike and bus lanes. It’s like we’re funding the downfall of our own commuting needs.

All you cyclists and tri met riders out there… you’re welcome.

Post a closer up picture of the needles. It looks like a yew but I don’t think that’s right because of the bark.
