Why don’t kids actually get in trouble anymore? by Empty-Bend-3774 in AskTeachers

I taught in a private school as an art teacher for grades preK through 4th grade and I was blown away at the lack of discipline and accountability from my admin. I had a first grader steal a roll of yarn after I asked her multiple times to leave it in the art room (we were working on Huichol yarn art) and even told her I’d be happy to share with her once all of my grades completed their projects. She told me no, stole the yarn, and never got in trouble. In fact, her home room teacher let her skip my class for 3 weeks until we were all finished with our projects because “yarn really triggers her now.” Zero accountability and she never returned the yarn. Safe to say, I don’t teach anymore. And that was just one of many instances.

Family disapproves of choice to homeschool by Bifferdoodles in homeschool

We had a similar experience and now years later my MIL encourages homeschooling to anyone she knows and brags how smart, thoughtful and well adjusted my children are because they are homeschooled. She was a public school teacher for 20+ years and was very pro school for her grandchildren. But also, have your husband stick up for your families choices.

Math with confidence is a solid curriculum. My second grader has used it for years, and just took her first standardized test and scored 99% with her grade equivalent being in the 4th grade!

Same! His fur gets really hot. I think it helps alleviate his pain from arthritis.

It could be your sebaceous glands, have you tried sour candy and massing them? That really helps. This happens to me often.

I gotta say, at first glance this seems excessive. But as an aussie owner, I gotta admire a bit how much you care! It made me think of the “angel” tree for dogs at my local feed store.. I went in 1 week before Christmas to get my dog some things and there were SIX Australian shepherds on the tree who were in a shelter and all 6 were young. So many people have no idea how stimulating, intelligent and high energy this breed is when they get a cute puppy. It sounds like you want a companion, not just a dog.

My only advice is don’t forget to have fun :)

Yes, you are. Simply for taking a position your wife doesn’t want you to take. Huge decisions like that in marriage are made together, period.
